You have some nice linework and it looks like your hands and feet are drawn pretty well, but the face on it feels a little anime-ish which in my opinion can tarnish a good drawing. Keep posting more stuff. i wanna see more.

Alright, since we had two snow days I couldn't upload at school, so here's my sketches from the weekend:

    -Two pose studies, from ballerinas
-a dragon (Smaug?), chalk on black construction paper
-A self-portrait, jazzed up with armor (assigned by Seedling)
-A landscape, not modified yet, but as it is in my front yard

Thanks, Envisor! I now have a motivation boost. X3

Done sometime yesterday afternoon, about an hour tops. Martial arts study, trying to figure out how a move would work.

Both of these are, yet again, assignments from Seedling.

The first is a pair of antlers I found, hanging off of the axe in the living room vase. I took some photos and then drew them from a totally different angle- which was VERY awkward. I decided to try chalk on brown construction paper, but I've only used chalk once before.

The second is a Naga, my character/warped self-portrait Dakatsu Chizome. I really like the way this one came out; I'm not entirely sure it's anatomically accurate but hey, I'm happy with it. I think I'll call it Redemption. (I've been listening to too much Gackt...)

Just so you know, Chizome's actually a REALLY old character of mine... I've been slowly developing her since I was about fifteen. o.o

    More stuff!

Second part of the last assignment- added horns and stuff to it. :B

Next is Princess Kraehe, "The Raven's Daughter" (I don't expect anyone to know who she is, though).

Last is some demon.. thing.... inspired by a creature from FFX. It looks more like it popped out of Doom...

Thanks, Zombie! I've been trying to stray away from anime style. It's too restrictive and stereotypical.

Anyways, more stuff! The result of watching a Tutankhamun special and looking at a cat skeleton. Oh joy! Demonic thingy. And an iteration on it with Gothic flying buttresses!

Interesting work so far, I suggest that you go out and sketch from real life more though. Quickly draw a person walking by, draw someone sitting or reading a book. The figures you posted here look way too unnatural, their heads are far to big. Maybe you were going for a stylization but like I suggested before, draw from real people. Once you got a good handle on drawing what the figure really looks like, stylization comes easily and naturally.

Zoroko- Thanks for the advice! I'm trying to stray away from the snime stylization of large heads, although it's a bit difficult. :/ Most of the stuff I get asked to draw is asked to be specificaly in the anime style, unfortunately.

Envisor- Good idea! I'll see if I can draw it later tonight. Maybe leaping or crouching...

Ferdinand- Thank you. *blush* I'm trying.

And anyways! On with the drawing. I only have, sadly, more cubes today.... but tomorrow, I promise I'll have something INTERESTING. Kinda, maybe, sorta... I dunno. Depends on your definition of interesting, I suppose.

O yea before I forget again your panther's eyes disappears, but I think you already knew that. You could try to make it lighter or leave it as is. It's your choice.

This cube exercise can become an interesting picture if you let your mind go. Do you have a technical drawing class or something or is it just something you thought of doing?

I'm looking forward to your next post.

    Cheers

I did actually notice that, but every time I drew the eye in it was too small to be noticed from that angle. Especially, with it being a black panther and all, my hand smudging the lead something fierce (I have a bad habit of letting my hand rest on my paper as I draw).

The cubes are an assignment from Seedling's thread here oon CA, something I decided to follow in order to excercise my skills a bit. I've never drawn cubes in my life, not good ones anyways, and certainly not with that amount of detail. Eventually, I plan to do a sci-fi style landscape in which I can put my poor, mutilated cubes to use. 8D

Alright, the daily drawing! XD This is the demonic cat mummy, but on two legs only. (It's on lined paper because we went to court in my Criminal Law class, and my notebook has no blank paper. ><)

    Okay, oodles of updates!

First, a chair in Mr. Howton's Criminal Law class that I mutilated.

Second, is a dragon bookend I drew by sunlight and then by moonlight.

Next, sniped sketches from my volunteer day at school (Mr. Marshall, Mrs. Winstead and Mr. Harrell- the teeny tiny one).

And last, a doodle on my Spanish warm-up. (You can see where I wrote. >>) Naga!

A Vilkacis (German, I think, for werewolf), an alien race I'm designing for a future project.

Hi Chizome I really like your werewolf concept and the mummy demon cat.

One thing that I wanted to suggest to you is that you can use a putty rubber aka. kneeable eraser.

It can be used in a lot of ways like adding textures to your sketches or bringing out the panther's eyes. If you’re looking for ideas go to my old sketchbook I’m anything but a glorified artist and go and take a look at the eyes it might give you an idea or two. That's all for me though

    Cheers

    Hey Ferdi,

I know, I used to have a kneaded eraser a looong loooong time agto, and I absolutely loved it. But now I'm flat broke, and the only art supplies available are those that dad/Sandy/Randy/someone else buy for me, or the ones at school- which has no art class. (Sacrilege!)

Alright, updates! Let me see if I order this correctly.

First and second, the same building- the auto shop as seen from my English class window. The second is, actually, a 'what if'? drawing of what is behind that darn fence.

Next, a day and night study from imagination of my Vilkacis. Personally, I like the night one better.

Lastly, two anatomy studies. I fiddled with the school skeleton for an hour and a half and got three drawings. -__- I won't have time again to amke an appointment with it, unfortunately.
