Post I've got an axe to grind!

A low poly fire axe that is! Just doodling tonight and put together this little devil out of 357 polys and a singular 512x512 skin.

I've got an axe to grind!

Crits and comments most welcome! I'm not 100% satisfied with the blood spatter or the chipped paint of the axe head. The grip could probably use some work too but I'm at a "writer's block" in regards to that.

Personaly. I like what you're going for, but to give it a grimmer look try making a texture for the blade and beak that looks like it was carelesly and roughly sharpened. Like on a rough peice of rock or something. Make it a bit shiny, to help it stand out a bit and with lots of scratches. Overal it looks good.
