    Jessica Biel study

    hi y'all,

continuing on with my Painter work (i've been using it for three month now and feel like i'm finally getting comfortable with it), i was enraptured by this photo of Jessica Biel from the Golden Globes --

    http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...ls_carg121.jpg

-- and made a study from it.

i've also been studying Richard Schmid's excellent book 'Alla Prima: Everything i know about painting'. Hovig, a fellow concept artist at Weta introduced me to it and i've been trying to apply those principles to digital painting. I've got a long way to go, but it's a start at least. anyway, i highly recommend it!

    cheers,
    d

Very nice work. the portrait is very good. the style is awesome.

yet i think the reddish background tends to flatten the picture a lot. just a suggestion though.

I am impressed, great use of painter. The lighting on those "red carpet" shots usually have 50 flash bulbs making the whole thing impossible to paint but you did it.

A painting is done with paints not with pixels. And a photo lies, then why would you go to the fountain if you can go to the river itself, Paint from LIfe..there is no more direct experience than that , if you cannot find Jessica..look for any blond..they all have the same beauty.

my new site, is crazy stuff but is my own space, I can say whatever!! hehe:
