    Questions about Concept Art!

For the folks that do this for a living--or just do it for shits, what is your advice for someone who might want to transition from design to concept art?
Should I go back to school and get a degree? I ask because a degree doesn’t seem to matter in the multi-media industry where your portfolio speaks a little louder. What schools would you recommend?

    Hi Simsay,
You might be interested in the "games industry" and "Concept Art 101" links in my sig. . .
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Perspective 101, Concept Art 101, Games Industry info,Oil Paint info, Acrylic Paint info, my sketchbook.

    Hey Simsays4.

I am currently studying at a predominantly design college but in order to become a concept artists. I haven't come too far with my art - still have a very long way to go - but I'd say around 85% of what I know I've learned from either these forums or other resources completely unrelated to college. With a strong background in graphic design I'd say it's now all down to translating that knowledge into painting and drawing, and spending time on it. I'd recommend starting a sketchbook here and getting advice from pros like Seedling. There are a surprising amount of professional concept artist who had no formal art training

hope that helps, if not then disregard!
    ciao!
