thanks cout<mecha...i really try to make the characters homogeneous. nice idea with the panels!

So i had the idea that in my deep universe there are three species. Long time ago the legend says that blind triplets, each from a different race, where born out of blue plasma (8)....they are watching over the entire deep world ever since, while sitting in the main center of the deep city around the blue table.....
    ...or so (hehe).

Looks like the gods of comics, anime, and disney all sitting down to talks. What make the 3 species special?

delmar: you have some fantastic designs!

Could you please post your thumbs for Deep (all of them, because you've got some killer ideas in there), with each character designated with a letter or a number, so that we could offer feedback on specific ones? There are a few in your Deep group that look really promising...I'd love to see these taken to a full color finish!

In this trio, two of the aliens look a bit similar in design (at least from my initial subjective view). There were some wildly different designs in your other group of thumbs which may serve up a third alternative that contrasts more strongly with the other two in the group.

I really love this idea, and the gestures are fantastic. Can't wait to see more.

Thank you all guys for the encouragement

imworlds....i wanted each of the three species to be humanoid therefore they look a bit similar, i will make the mermaids a bit different in the design of the head i guess..thanks for the crit.

Here three ideas for creatures that are domesticated in the deep world.
    and another thumbsheet.

    ....going back to work.

Wow man, your strong design skills get extra value with those brush strokes. I just love how fluid and rich they are, and how you manage to get depth and volume on every design, which make them pop out. Neat.
Your DEEP concepts are definitely among my favorites.

    Keep up the good work.
    Cheers!

The Ham: Thanks man!! Come back as often as you want..

The beast: Thanks a lot...i don't know about the fluid lines, maybe because i always start with the entire form when i do sketches, so you can see if everything is in the right place then i start to get some mor detailed shapes...i guess a design only really works when reduced to the basic form it still appeals to you. I'll definitely go and check your sb soon...

So here is the final...don't know if i'm able to give'em a decent background but there's just one week left....and soooo much work to do.

    edit: now with headlight.

looking super nice so far, man.
with this last creature tho, i think the initial "C-sketch" is working better for some reason.
i think itīs the line-like texture running vertically across it.
maybe try doing them horizontally? or maybe some scale-like texture instead.
    keep truckin mate!

great sb.. but I already said it in the past, About your last sea creature post: why don't you try to add some air going out from the mouth? Or maybe something else that could capture the attention of the observer on the head... Just my two cents.

Flaskpost: Thanks mate....i indicated some horizontal lines on his belly and it looks better now, i think. The point is i want to be it really lethargical and ...yeah...fat. SO i came up with the vertical stripes...

ANjin: Man you're definitely right, i had before the idea to give him a little lampion on his head...i thought this would be a little too cliche for deepsea creature...but now i think i would really draw the attention more to the head...thanks.

    Another WIP

I believe you could make the last one different from the big one of the other post. you could put him in a group (what's the english for a group of fishes?) using the group to render the deepness
Or, another possibility, is make him putting eggs under him... like a disgusting fluid.
ok ok... I go back to work! :p

    great works, keep posting, please!

I'm liking the last two, very nice and tropical, good gradations. The previous two tend to show their strokes in some areas. If they exist in the darker depths somewhere where the sea pressure is high and such, I understand that they become more transparent and have the ability to become flourescent. You should try and bring that out more using the background or showing the instance of glowiness. Why so many fish? A project perhaps?

anjin: thanks, yeah would be a good idea to put them in a group, since this creature is considered to be something like a pet (like a dog) for the deep chracters......right now i don't have much time...i need 3 more concepts.

cout<mecha: Thnanks, and you are right with the glowiness so i hope the following creature is what you had in mind in terms of more lightning. And yeah they are for the deep contest here on the board

Here is the last fellow out of the three concepts above...hope you all like it.

argh wow even more nice stuff.
i love the way your working with these pieces. what brush are you using for this? if you dont mind me asking...i understand if a magician keeps his trade a secret. whatever it is the brush and the way your using your waves are great.
id love to see more pictures of these in motion? like acting in their natural environment maybe interacting with something? otherwise keep it up . a pleasure to look and and feed from!

The Ham: Wow, Thanks a lot mate! No the brushes i use are definitely no secret..hehe . For things like thumbnails or the bigger sketches i limit myself to one sometimes two brushes...a custom brush from bumskees brushessentials , i really fell in love with that one....and sometimes a simple round brush. For pieces like the following one i used the brushes i already mentioned plus two or three custom brushes and a bit of texturing (but not too much).

The next finished piece for deep cow. It's the only energy supplier for the deep city, because this creature is able to pump out bundled plasma when it's on edge. So th picture shows the plasma fields where plasma accumulators are absorbing the bundled plasma from the creature.
