I was thinking it was for oriental folding fans, like a japanese war fan. What it is, is absolutely gorgeous! I can't stop looking at it myself. (Looks like Arky was right).

I really appreciate Aly's work also. It's a clever idea and nice continuation with her subject matter (pin ups). The rendering of all the little objects in her pics is what always gets me. They're all carefully done and positioned nicely. Always great rendering.

Icon and Vlyes ideas, also clever. Icon's choice for lighting is what I always like. I also like the skulls in the sky giving that story a little more dimension.

I aboslutely love Nicolas' clothes designs! He's a great pro, awesome rendering/lighting... but his design aspects that get me. Awesome job man!

As soon as I heard this was up, I decided to storm to my friend's house about 40 minutes away, kick them out of bed and use their computer! And my was it worth it!!!

First I wish to thank everyone. Mainly Cody, judges and the entire 270 artist that worked so hard on this (a few pussouts here and there, but this is a speech not a damn math class!!!!!) ... this contest truly changed me as an artist, and it wouldn’t have been possible if it weren't for all of you. I'm blessed, honored, and overwhelmed to be next to these fantastic professionals!

With that out of my system
Nicolas: I laugh every time I see it, and it's wonderful! The army is silly but it truly attracts attention to the main figure, which I sigh about, since it’s executed wonderfully!!!

Shelly: My dear! That poor lady is delusional; she thinks wall pictures will save her from assassins!! !!!! No, just joking. Wonderful Shelly, just wonderful! Its design, color, composition, is just out of this world. You truly excel more and more with each work delivered! I guess I’m just so happy for you since I remember the first pieces you posted in concept art (well not the first, but the ones before the girl Thunderdome) and you have grown so much!! I'm glad and I can't wait until we get to hang out again ;p. (or at least until I get my net back so I can make a blogspot and chill)

Vyle: Don Quixote owns my heart, and so does this piece. I'm typically not a fan of low key pictures, but it works so well for you since I find myself going back to the painting making out the different shapes. It could also be this horrible monitor. In any case, I adore it

Posh/Aly: The king of pin up is what I shall call you. This is fantastic!! I did a list as well, and there are only three things that can be assigned to " charge!"
    : 1. A battle.
    2. Someone charging their credit card
    3. Someone charging their battery.
I was a 100% sure everyone (including myself) would do a war scene... and I’m really happy you didn’t! It works so well, I adore your details and names. Abby normal...seriously!! I love its humor, color, composition...well everything =/ . She’s even suicidal! Mix hairspray with electricity and you get a happy explosion. Well anyways, great work!

You four have inspired me greatly, and your work for this "just for fun" competition has been amazing, to me there is no clear winner! I feel sorry for the judges, since these are all so great, that it suddenly becomes a matter of taste! So good luck to them!

Gotta give this one to Shelly... each of the images feels a little rushed compared to other works by these amazing artists but only one is truly WAN-derful.

Amazing work everyone... an incredible competition overall!

    Great stuff!

if it were for me, i'd make vyle win (for style). or poshspice (for originality) Never the less every entry is good in it's way.

congrats to all the finalists,i pull my nonexistant hat in front of you.
for me it's a tie between the females of this one,shelly,icon,aly(),wouldn't wanna be a judge.
each and every one of those pics deserves to be on a cover of it's own though, and should there ever be a "best of thunderdome" book coming out *hint hint*,multiple editions for different countries wouldn't be much of a problem
by some i was thrown outta my socks by what seemed a sudden gigantic leap in quality (icon f.ex.,compared to your female pinup, which is hot on it's own, this owns by even a few miles more).
once again congrats to all for being this far,and my vote is for icon and shelly sharing first place
you've all certainly inspired me to work harder on my own entry next time.

    Always think about:
    lighting! design! perspective! proportion!
    And (self)motivation is still everything.
