I'm studing literature (first year), all day I'm drawing there, while listening.
I'll post some of those drawings.

    ****English translation****

The dragon cover looks nice. The use of value is clearly give it form and volume. Since this is for a book cover, would be nice to show the overall composition and ideas of it, to give you a better insight.

About the figures, there doesn't seem to be any major problem with proportions. They are from imagination, right? I am not very familiar with the videos of Vilppu but I have heard great things about his teaching. Currently I am focusing on the head and hands book of Loomis, Loomis figure book and sometimes a book of Jack Hamm that is very short. This stuff is so complex, there is a lot to study!

About the imagination drawings, a small critique about the design is to consider the function of the feet. These creatures have a heavy upper body that should be compensated by strong legs as they act as the support of the body. This could work for a cartoon style but in a more realistic manner is not very believeable.

Hopefully it can be of any help, but the graphics above had help me for the proportions of figures. There is another one of the book of Jack Hamm that have been useful too.

hey cool stuff. I would say on your creatures you should look at more anatomy refererence to see how the bone structure and anatomy works. For your figures they are pretty good but don't forget about drawing faces, they are important.

-slash: I haven't noticed any errors did you? (who am I kidding, you probably wount read this)
-Quinn Simoes: Thanks a lot, I will.
    -Mischeviouslittleelf: cheers, I'll try.
-Maestro Andres: Thanks for all man. I did try a blend between 2d and 3d, and it's great for becaming faster. I actually did that on the cover (or they did it in my pleace). I'll show it to you later. I don't know about the outcome, it looks very good, but my hydras are way too little. Also, I did try Loomis, he's great. I also try a little on bridgman, and jack ham, but my favorite is vilppu.

-JoshK: I reckon that I usually don't draw creatures, thanks a lot for the tip, and you are way too right about the face, I'll try to do so in the future. Cheers!
-Hybrid_75: Thanks, you're not doing it so bad either, huh? Thanks mate.
-perilous: I hope it helps, I should correct it now to make it easier, but don't have the time. keep going, and if you have anything to ask, ask.

This is for a web page, I put it as a gif so that you could see how it will look. At the side there are the buttons that you may see in the first image. I had a better presentation, but the page doesn't late me to upload it. What a petty, because it fullfils every requirement.
Anyway, use your imagination. The buttons also have an animation, an some picture appears when you hover with the arrow above them (that's what you see in the first button, that's lighten up; the image above changes depending on the button you flote over).
I used three different pictures (one for the head, one for the body and the inside of the box, and one for the wood fourniture with the sign that says "your fortune"), and lots of painting and color correcting.
The light effect is done with some layer with white, with blending mode set to overlay. The animation is done in Image ready. I used zbrush for the border of the buttons, and a texture that is perhaps way too distort (I may change that). The image on the side is from Doré, but it was originally in b/w (it's better that way).
    Hope you like it!

I was going into this direction with the hydras. They didn't like them, but I did, so I'm posting them. I used ZBRUSH and 2D painting (I though that if I was going to make four of them, it was better to sculpt rather than draw, as I could use the same hydra four times!).
I would have continue painting over the 3D stuff, but as I said, we chose to go in another direction, so use your imagination on this one too.

    ------------------------------

Hey man, the hydras are getting better. Good decision on going for 3d. Look forward for more progress on it since it is looking very interesting now. What I would suggest is to retouch the shadows and highlights to add more depth to it in the case you are doing different renders and the compile them. Make the first hydra to come more forward to the viewer, the last one more back into the bg, you get the idea so that they don't appear to be in the same plane.

The hands are nice too. Is that new technique you mentioned, Zspheres? If it is that, I would like to see how you are setting up your spheres for creating the hand. I saw a tutorial about it but it was kinda lacking in explaining how to make the hands using zspheres. And well if you are not using zsphers, it will be something to check out for sure.

Well keep at it man! Look forward for more progress on your hydras.
