Your drawing and figure painting are really something to me, the last one with robot head in #193 is just amazing!! I think that your use of skin tone matches with the lighting superbly. Keep those studies coming please, I want to learn more from you!!

Nubb Hey thank you very much but really you're giving me way to much credit there.

Here's a small update. The last one is an overpaint of a really old silhouette sketch I found somewhere on my computer.

hey, I like the 2nd one a lot, nice comp and colors are very anemic, I love it! you could have spent some more time on the robes though. the nose is maybe a tad to red, but I am not gonna bitch about it!

last one is way too busy, do some tonal changes and add color to define a center of interest. right now its really flat also.

first one doesn't speak to me at all, no reason though.

    Cheers guys!

Well since you guys are asking for it, here's the bottom part that used to go with the previous sketch. Something didn't feel right in the initial sketch and I decided to seperate both halves, don't know if I'll take it any further though.
Second one is just some painter practice. I couldn't get her head to look right so I painted a box over it...

    Nubb: cheers mate!
UnSharpened: Thank you very much. Don't think there's a real secret to it though. One thing I find really usefull is to analyse work by Rembrandt and do master copies.
complete2: Hey thanks a lot man!
Ash888: Thank you I'm pretty much self thaught, I'm learning by trying to analyse work that I admire, observing the world around me and just practice. That's basically it I guess.
RandAlThor hehe yeah, it's a fun and easy solution when you screw up faces! thanks man!
Lakka: Thank you very much! yeah you're right, I should practice enviros more. I'm having a really hard time whenever I need to do enviro/architectural concepts at work, though I find sketchup to be a great tool to quickly build a model with acurate perspective and shadows and just paint over it, but still.

Here's another Painter practice with some touch-up work in Photoshop. I'm starting to like Painter a lot, but man it's hard to master if you're used to Photoshop and don't have a solid background in traditional painting.

Good to see this sketchbook after some time. The paintings are going very well I see. It's also funny that I got here trough you when you posted on Aniway, talking about conceptart and cgtalk. You made a good point back then and I'm glad I discovered this place. I have no idea if you remember though.

cheers a la bapsi and amarryth

Woohoo I graduated from college about 2 weeks ago and got my first real job as concept artist and art director at a small game studio in my hometown. I've actually been working there for the past 9 months or so on my graduation project and some freelance work, but now I got a full time position starting tomorrow so hooray for me

    Anyways, here's some new shit.
Don't know why my scanner suddenly decided to suck...
