    nice pencil work, shading's tight

not a big fan of the paintings, I think the design elements in your backgrounds are more interesting than the painted figures.

n3gative - Thanks. The figures are not so interesting because they are portraits of family memebers.

    DanielC - Thanks!

    bhanu - Thanks!

    rblitz7 - Thanks! I'm gonna be a sophomore.

I changed one of the paintings a bit.

I started doing this thing were I doodle a bunch on the whole paper and then try to make sense of it all. It is tons of fun. Try it. This is what I got so far.

Thanks so much guys for the replies!

JoeEffect - I work completely with oils. I experiment with oil mediums like, stand oil, liquin and neo meglip.

Spyplane - I'm still not attending school but trying to keep productive.

My painting has improved alot this year but still needs to be pushed to the next level. I need stronger compositions and color theory. If you guys could gimme input in these areas it'd be great.

    Thanks!

Here's what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks. Oh, and I got an ipod!

Second movie painting. 'Goodbyes'. Let's see if you can guess where its from.
I coated a piece of wood with liquitex gloss medium. Works so much better than clear gesso. For the background I used stand oil in the paint and again went crazy with the palette knife.

Color Excursion. I work at Aaron Brothers (a framing and art store) so they gave me this beaten up abstract wall piece and I gessoed the hell out of it but the texture of the other painting was still very obvious. So I just went for it and painted this cool photo I had laying around.

That Fat Kid - Your suggestions sound good. I have been focusing on composition alot more this past week. Breaking it down to simple shapes helps alot. I am also concerned with the flow of the piece. How you make your marks with the pencil or the brush is more important than the overall arrangement.

I'm trying to work alot more from life while still keeping a creative edge.

Here's my cousin workin her photoshop skills.

    Hey Orozco,
Thanks for dropping by my SB. Cruising thru your SB. I Like the line drawing environments of your friends/cousins space. Nice depiction. Good skills here. Like your color excursion, as well. Seemed fun to do. Always use opportunities to let loose, something I need to work on.

    These are very cool!

Very well done, all around: rendered and proportions, everything.
Really nice studies going on throughout.

This also, is a really nice portrait. Is this you? I'm always impressed when character is captured in a drawing of a face, which is clear in this drawing. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...2&d=1173094903

    Keep up the good work.
