so one thing that i know i need practice on is the female figure. i know i know every guy loves drawing boobs but i actually haven't drawn millions of females. so heres a start.
so here some some scans of my sketch book this week. after looking at them and realizing that theres no order to them i decided each week i am going to study one specific thing.
so here are some of week 2's sketch book pages. wanted to do more studys on the female figure. and will continue to work on my anatomy, maybe this next week ill have both male and female figures, so i can see the differences in weight of line and style. most of these sketches are are from photo ref.
some more facial studies, you can see which ones i spent more time on than others. my objective is to make sure i do 'draw through' so the proportions work out correctly, doesn't always work for me but im trying
here is a pastel self portrait that i hope to put in my portfolio. this was done a little while back, maybe a year. but just to show some of my skillz other than my SB
heres an update on a character im working on. incorporating my style in with my character design.
very cool!, i would say that the ;life drawing of the chica needs a something a little extra

Nice sketches overall.
Nice rendering of the ninja looking guy cant wait to see it finished.
You just need to sketch more women to get the anatomy right, and also work more on drawing heads.
Keep it up.
here are a bunch more head studies. quick ones at that. nothing special.
just trying to get the angles on the face correct. i didnt want to spend a lot of time refining them, just wanted to get the angle down
i think i accomplished it on some of them. will have to do more. i did 10 pages but here are some of the good and bad
so these are going to be a little out of order. and remember they range from like 30 sec. to maybe 4 mins on the more refined.
the purpose of this exercise was to get faster at faces, cuz when i render projects it takes awhile, ends up looking good but i want to get faster.
nice! keep up the studies! and keep postin
so heres another little update on my sketch book more head studys, i think im starting to get back in the swing of things, since its been so long. indeed many more to come tho
here i just wanted to spend a couple more mins than i usually spend, nothing amazing but a little more flushed out
and here is a quick paint i did in about 15 mins, maybe a little more, trying not to use line at all. i know it does look a little blurry, but the effect i was going for was air brush, even if its an over done style.
a couple more pages from this weeks SB, tried doing some eyes and what not. still need to spend a lot more time on them, specifically 3/4 views and side views
and some more
here are some stronger pieces from the group. i enjoy spending more time on some of my sketches but my goal is to not spend that much time.
so sometimes i really enjoy drawing and sometimes i dont, today is a day i do so here is some of my SB
here is one of those sketches takin a bit farther, i need to finish it for class. so ill get that up here when i do
and heres a couple more that i did in photoshop. i am pretty happy with these. making sure to exaggerate really helped them look fluid and not so stiff
nice job man!, youre working very hard keep it up!
some more quickens! im startin to get a feel for the sketching. so i recently checked out some books for anatomy ref. to help some more. i ll keep up the human figure till i get where i feel comfortable with the sketches then start to flush them out a bit more and so on. maybe ill do some animal drawings soon.
alright here is todays sketches.. again i didnt draw everyday like i wanted to.. some days ya just dont feel like it. at least me. and today was another one of those days... but i got at it anyway and did a couple. here are some of those.. i like the one with the big hands on the top right
so here are a couple renders. i think these show that if i spend a bit of time that stuff actually looks good. but my objective to to get better in speed and quality. plz critq good or bad
an update on the female figure above. hopefully get to render this fully soon. but it may be awhile before i get to considering the amount of work i have ahead of me this week.
and also another study done in line. hope to refine it to a painting
I like your gestures the best, they flow and have a lot of action. I notice some of your face construction is a bit on the long side. Tighten up those lines and study some skulls for fun. I liked how you add details in your character with all the tight armor.
To answer your question on the some materials I used. For the textured paper it's: Earthbound recycled sketchbook by Cachet, 80 sheets 70 lbs, for around $13 USD at Utrecht. I used Prismcolor Turquoise pencils. Hope this helps.

Some cool drawings in here, I like doing little figures like how you did up near the top... Fun to play around with different poses like that.
