    Unhappy Opinion please...

    hi guys,

i'm new here. i'm just a beginner to concept art. Until this time I just used to copy other drawings....

I just drew one of my concepts. I drew the Hindu god of snakes (known as Vaasuki). It's my 1st complete work. I also painted it in Photoshop. But I personally think this work didn't achieve the result I expected.

I want views from all of you....regarding my mistakes or whatever.

Hope you guys will help me.

    The outline (inked):

Hi there, welcome to ConceptArt, Radon

I would recommend U to study a bit more drawing, especially the human body. U can do this by go to nude figure study classes or buy a book in the subject. The link can also be helpful, aswell as the refence section here in CA.

U can also take part in the daily sketchgroup here at CA (DSG for short - U need IRC - #sketch).

Try maybe to draw (loose sketches) about one hour a day - they say that gives improvement in a year.

If, judging by your style, U want to draw not-so-average people, maybe the marvel superhero drawing guides can be helpful too.

Once in a while - do a bigger thing, a project, drawing and color it in a few weeks.

And dont be afraid of copying - we all need crutches in the beginning.

U have just embarked on a jorney that U can travel all your life - nothing brings me joy and satisfaction like drawing.
    Good luck :chug:

PS - repost this on Work in Progress - DS

    Draw, draw, draw.

Never give up and never surrender.

My first 10 years, full time, with only pencils, paid off. Now I can draw in my sleep. Some people are born with that raw talent and others, like me, work hard at it everyday, pushing oneself, a learner for life.
