Phew, what a SB! When you say quickies, what amount of time are you referring to?
for example this one : http://mv.cgcommunity.com/images/wakeup.jpg
your ability to render environments quickly is stunning and you have a good eye for
mood and atmosphere as well as colors.
If I were to give you crits, it would mostly be about tackling characters and figures.
Do you find the time to draw from life a lot? If you were to translate your environment
skills and quality to your figures, I think you would certainly rise to new levels.
Just my humble opinion
Hope to see more soon.

"There is no such thing as 'accurate drawing'. There is beautiful
drawing, and ugly, and nothing else." JAD Ingres, Ecrits sur l'art
lovely stuff, and thanks for the brushes
SB. p31 updated 25.04.2012.
Your environments are gorgeous! Some of them look so effortless, but I know from recent experimentation how much understanding of shape and light is needed! Beautiful.
Sorry I haven't been here since you're first post...so many subscribed sketchbooks and awesomeness, I forgot to subscribe to yours...
Anyway, post #129 is fuckin nice. The atmosphere to the piece is really engaging. Your last update has a nice sense of scale to it. The building and background really work for the overall composition.
You sure know how to render. Wow, I love it. :]
As for the brush, it locked up after I was using that square brush. :/ It's ok, I've been starting to make my own brushes. I still use yours for stuff, really like those urban texture brushes in there. Kehe! Cheers!
good god its great! haha i kinda suck at the digital stuff. i mean i have tried and i just dont understand color enough on a basic level yet to be movin into digital.
FUCK! damn! argh! how the fuck?!
Thanks guys! been a while! been swamped with work and travels and stuff lately. Some cool news should come soon and I'm also going to japan for 5 weeks monday.
Tried to do a little video at last!
20 min sketch (yeah I went for the sci fi blueish overcast crap again, but hey I didn't do any speedie for a while and it was a test )
here it is in bigger scale
I'll try to do more of these in the future. it's kinda fun to work with the pressure of knowing it's being recorded; you don't wanna screw up or try too many different things :d
Totally awesome dude! What you call Speedy, ...damn. I like your stuff!
Super Cool, thanks for the vid.

thats awesome, thanks for that, some interesting things i saw you do that I wouldve never thought of, like overlaying an old painting...
I hope you get used to doing these because I'd love to see you get a little crazier with these, I wanna learn some more tricks from ya!I'll try to do more of these in the future. it's kinda fun to work with the pressure of knowing it's being recorded; you don't wanna screw up or try too many different things :d
just great! thanx for sharing and wainting for some more
PS - can you upload somewhere a downloadable version?

Pascallo : thanks!
Bojee : thank you!
Main Loop : thanks man, glad you enjoyed. Yeah not much tricks here, I've become more classical in my way of painting now, not much custom brush crazyness anymore. I'll try to show more "tricks" in next videos yeah overlaying a pic is cool, adds some randomness that can suggest new shapes or directions, also adds some subtle color variation that enriches the palette.
Dominus : okay here is it : http://mv.cgcommunity.com/echange/test.divx
Call0ps : thx!
tensai : hey, sure! just grab my msn adress (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we'll talk about that!
blog : thanks!
designboot : thank you.
Spats : thank you!
and btw since it's out, here is an illo I did for 2 book covers
great piece here too
Argh, that's so good m@, thanks for the posting a vid too.
I hope I'll get half as good as you are with values if I study photos, oils and goauche really hard. A question of out curiousity, you're working professional with concepts, right?
Never stop doing your thing, Mathias.
