Mushroom king is awesome, paint that stuff up yo.

    Collaboration piece is nice.

Spawn-Venom is sweet. Wouldn't mind seeing some more of this stuff.

    Nice photoshopping and awesome helmets!

I like the portraits on this page alot but the last two need a bit more work. Cleaner definition in a few areas I guess. Its cool to see an abstract approach tho!

I'm definitely feeling your pieces! Your painting skills are definitely looking nice. It has such a smooth style to it...

I'd suggest to keep doing those refinement pieces that you are doing like in #459 more They really help as time goes on, those are probably the same kind of studies as doing figure studies.

Also, keep doing some costume design studies like in your king post above. I want to see that one colored. It looks really nice. Oh, and if you can, show a process so that I can start seeing a better refinement process (You don't have to, just curious how you get the nice look to your paintings)

    Anyway, keep going.

Cristoffer - thanks alot man, i wish i could post more often too but most of my work these days is NDA so it'll have to wait..

    Orozc0
    - i like to play alot with the portraits and experiment all sorts of stuff, including missing out parts of the faces and using fked up colors. they're really cool and relaxing exercises mostly. thanks!

Matte Art - i will do more finished pieces, alot of friends adviced me to, but i just have to get some time together cause now it's all about quantity unfortunately. thanks for the costumes advice too. thanks for the nice words dude.

I've put together some progress shots on that spawn/venom piece, i hope it can help. Sorry, i know it's a BiiIIIIgggg pictureeeeee:

Dude...I've got nothing except an Everything's sweet in here. Last tut is helpful as well. Inspiring variety of work, emphasis on variety. It's tough to attain high levels in distinct areas, even harder to be good all around. Excellent sketchbook, keep at it man. Things looking bright!

Wowza! Lots of great updates I've missed. I love looking at your pencils. And the Photoshop portraits are really nice.

    Moar updates!

    I like the colorful portraits.

The red guy with the skull is a cool character.
I like these designs with linear shapes, it's a great opportunity to make some really interesting visuals.
I think you should think a little more about the shapes, try to harmonize them more.
Technique-wise, this piece would be a lot stronger if it was done with a bigger brush and broader strokes.

    Just my 5 cents.

thanks for dropping by! i like your SB, good improvement from first to last, you dont update much though, its been 4 years since you started it and you only have 16 pages. Anyways, i hope i can improve this much in 3 years, im coming close to my 1st year anniversary when i took art seriously. So 3 years to go! lol it sounds long, but high school went by pretty fast for me soooo who knows.

    BTW i really like this:

the colours and such are nice.

My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills

    hey My57,
it's easy to expplain why i don't update much:
    - i've been in many indie projects and i've signed NDA's. i left the teams or the projects died or whatever and i'm still not allowed to show those. and you wouldn't believe how much stuff i did and i can't show.
    - my daily job is design - graphic design and identity and i don't really wanna post that kind of stuff here. plus, i select alot of what i do and post a very small part here..

anyways, i just wanna give you a sneak-peek from a project i'm in right now. i'll be able to post all the goodies in 5 or 6 months but here's some rejects:

Man, I can't believe how far your work has come, so fast. You look like you draw/paint everything that comes to your mind. That's incredibly inspiring. I really love your Android-style collab and your alchemy experimentations look great! Best of luck, man.

Returning the favour! Some really nice stuff in this sketchbook, I have a fondness for your pencil sketches and the last of the graphic design elements on page 14 was looking really fresh. The spawn/venom piece has a great sense of movement too.

If I had to make any suggestions I'd say perhaps that if you picked focal areas in some of your digital stuff and really worked on the rendering, your pieces overall would probably take that next little step. Wouldn't have to be much, but the odd bit that's important really fleshed out well, since you've obviously got the skills! But a great looking sketchbook all in all.
