I love the way that even your figue work looks kid of abstract and accidental. The mustache anatomy pic rocks and i enjoyed your TD entry a lot.

WOW man. Love what you're doing here. You've got such a original, impressive style. Lovely pencils and I really dig the way you've applied your color and paints to the sketches

    Very unique.

Oh. And thanks for posting in my sketchbook as well.

    Spam Man!

bojee ~ thankee! thats 20 minutes after pulling my hair out from three other attempts! i think i need some rogaine, stat!
jason ~ too kind! but you dont have to thank me for posting in your sketchbook, i feel it necessary to compliment someone of your skills!! its always a treat seeing what your up to mate!
fedex ~ haha yeah those oils are a tricky beast! but think of it this way: in ten years when noones doing them anymore, you can sell your stuff for crazy money! thats why im glad were trading now: i wont have to spend money when your famous!! haha i am evil!
    max ~ ah thanks mate!

well, i was inspired by my buddy HURRI to do some studies. I figure if i get too frustrated when my own vision doesnt come out right, its easier on the brain to fail just copying something...but making strides!
went to my favorite civil war photo site and found this guy. originally going to do a whole body study, but his face was just way too cool.
sadly about an hour mix of painter and photoshop. next time hopefully quicker!!
and thanks hurri for inspiring me! any input you could tell me as far as brushes/grayscale would be awesome! ( i used a custom charcoal brush and blender for most of this)
oh yeah, and it looks like a mall portrait...behold my future!

~1 hr (supposed to be a body study but im a poo)

    looks great!!
and thanks for being inspired by me!! you inspire me for sure!

whatch out of haveing the same punch in the whites all over the image. "White" is relative to it's surroundings kinda. White isnt white until it have black next to it or something. A white ball in shadow won't have pure whiteness to it, it'll be brighter than the surroundings though (i guess)

oook, end of rant... *shakes head*

keep on doing the studies and do your own imaginary stuff too, it rocks!

    cheers!

Just stopping by to say how much I like your stuff really. Your line work and your charcoal stuff is really great.Your sketches have so much character to them, I wish I could capture that in some of my work a bit better.
    Keep on keeping on mate.

    hey all!
bojee ~ thanks for coming again! much appreciated
kboss ~ thanks mate! i suppose my characters are decent, but i find i am getting so frustrated actually coloring them digitally!!! argh!
hurri ~ ah, the master himself! hehe! thanks for the words, much inspiration
don-key ~ hey it'd be great to see what you got man, gotta keep eachother going!!

well, i had to end tonight in utter frustration. and laughter. i thiught it was kinda funny, looking back over my progression for the latest 'nanotech' chow. i had origianlly wanted something light an airy, and ended up just quitting. mabue go back into it tomorrow..but could someone please tell me why this happens?!!?!? i just cant explain it. what i wanted to be quick and airy ended up wasting the whole night without coming to a satisfactory stopping point in the slightest
but again, it is kinda funny

    WHY?!

step 1, lay in base colors. did that okay at least. step 2, elaborate, still somewhat on the right path. step 3, kinda losin it step 4, this is where i had to stop

    poo.
