Swen's character factory: Characters, Tutorials & More Characters
Hi, my name is Swendly. I studied Game Design & Development in The Netherlands and now I'm a full time freelance illustrator and concept artist with a focus on character design.
I started this sketchbook so I can get constructive crits, share knowledge and my art with the rest of you. Enough talking lets look at some art.
Crits are always welcome

The Following User Says Thank You to fantasyartist For This Useful Post:
nice starts, my fav are the first animal and human studies, very nice lines and dynamic shapes.Other figures are quite stiff.Try and work more on face anatomy and life drawing, i'm sure it could help.Keep this thread up, i wanna keep watching
Favorites are the horse studies, great pics, and concepts. keep up the good work.
Thanks man I love doing those animal studies too. What exactly didn't you like (or could be better) about the faces? Most faces I draw are very stylized so some proportions are exaggerated. I started doing some gesture drawings lately to make my characters more dynamic overal. I'll update soon so keep watching.
Glad you like my work I'll take a look at your sketchbook soon
Some paintings I did a couple of months ago
Swen's sketchbook BIG update
Long time since I updated. I've been very busy with school projects and practicing.
Have been very busy lately. Here are some sketches.
Been awhile since Ive been here. Great sudies and digitals you have going on. I love your last post, the painting looks really good, but you need to define the head a little more. I aslo love the pen piece. Very confident lines and great scenery, the tiger just looks awesome. Cant wait for more.
For some reason my the rest of my attachments aren't showing
How many more attachements did you have?
I'll try posting in smaller portions
And some more
The final ones
Thanks for stopping by man. Glad you like my new posts. The one with the tiger isn't a pen drawing I did it with a black faber castle pencil. I think it's like those prisma color pencils but for some reason they don't sell them here in the Netherlands.
hey man everything has improved in here since the first post, its really looking good.Keep posting!
