Thanks for commenting! I like Miyazaki movies but the visuals of his movies aren't really something I am in to I think...I don't own any of the art books for the movies he did. Just curious, what is it that reminded you about Miyazaki?

THat last one is really super her left eye could use some ofthe same Tlc as the right got, but very good work.

I like your anime inspired work as well The cowboy girl is my favorite.

The elf girl look more like a fashion drawing than anything else.

Also in your sunset it would have looked and felt more natural for there to be more yellow tones in the sky and clouds.

WhiteRose> I'm not sure how long it took; I worked on it on and off; an earlier version was done a few months earlier and I picked it up again recently. I'd say maybe 20 hours? Time is not really important though, imho, unless you're measuring your own speed for commercial production.

your sketchbook is so sweeeeet , dunno why but it hit my rotten emo nerv.

really like the last updates. i wonder where you dissapeared. have you felt the conceptart doesn´t like anime style that much atmosphere the first time ?
don´t let this discourage you , ( if you have felt it)

oh yeah this one reminded me of myasaki somehow, very sweet . haha can´t believe she´s made of urine
    http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1169096691

masaki likes to draw old hags and cats , i think it´s because of that( not to forget he loves pigs the most)

hope you´re doing fine , stay well and keep postin!!!

Great mixture of different styles here.
    Love that cowgirl in red.
That last painting is nice. If I had to critique it, I would say that the background could do with more gradient in tone, from top to down or vice versa. The figure is standing too straight and stiff. Maybe offset her feet a little.

Like the others, I like your work, especially the colouring style. (Reminds me of http://itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm )

To break the line of compliments, I gotta say that the face in the coloured picture of this post: http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...4&postcount=31 bothers me. It seems as if the part around the left eye should go in a bit, to show she has an eye socket and cheek bone. Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but the mouth seems to be drawn as if her head is facing directly towards us, when really it's at a slight angle. I'd either move it slightly to the right, or erase a bit of the mouth to the left of the tongue, so the tongue looks less centred.

Another thing is that she seems to have lost her breast since the sketch. o.O

Looking good, the studies are nice. I like the anime styled pieces too, but you might wanna stay away from the "red knee/elbow/shoulder-with-a-highlight" thing

Curious: what's bad about the red-with-a-highlight thing?

It's not inherently bad or wrong. It's a stylistic choice, and my advice to keep away from it is just an opinion on what I don't care to see very much. I see it from time to time in various anime works and instead of making the joints look delicate or warm, it tends to call too much attention to the area (red is an attention grabber, couple this with a highlight too..) and in my opinion it makes the area look sore, or bruised, which is the opposite effect I think someone might be wanting to achieve. It also doesn't describe anything about the joint, show us where it bends, or depict any superficial anatomy landmarks. I think it tends to make the area look much more spherical as well. It's probably not the worst technique, but I wouldn't go overboard on it, you'd probably want to keep that one in moderation. Again that's just my opinion on the matter, not my "say-so".

    I had never thought that people would find the blush annoying Yeah, I realize logically it will look sore or bruised or show anatomy; but emotionally I can't resist the red knees and shoulders! I just want to add them!! everywhere!! *o* BLUSH FETISH!! OoO;;
