    Harlequin01's 365 Characters/52 Environments

This is my first post for a sketchbook that will span the year. The goal of this sketchbook is to produce one character work per day and one environment work per week.

The minimum level of quality I'm allowing myself is a full line drawing. A character must be resolved from head to toe. NO UNFINISHED SECTIONS Environments must include foreground, midground, and background. It has to at least be a setup for a painted finish.

I will be striving to improve my craftmanship, speed, and idea creation. I hope that many of you will help me along the way with your thoughts.

I moved 001 and 002 down to this post from the first post so everyone could see my latest piece first when opening this thread.

Looks like your having a little trouble with anatomy, and figure postions. Great concepts, my favorite so far is your second pic, has an awesome sense of grittiness, just a good compostion. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, I've always struggled with anatomy vs. poses. I'm hoping to keep hammering at it, but that's what this sketchbook is for. I look forward to your thoughts on the drawings to come. Let me know if I'm heading in the right direction.

Hey man, nice lookin stuff you have going on here. I know your quest here, but I think it would be nice to see some studies and things too. I think it would help loosen you up. Also I think you should do some genre specific stuff that is not your forte already. I think that would really help broaden this sketchbook.

Vance, I'll probably start to post some studies a little later next to the characters, as an extra to the posts. Thanks for the comment.

To everyone, I appreciate all your critiques and will be keeping them in mind when ever I'm sketching. Thanks!!

    The first Environment....E01

I did say I would post one environment a week. This one is a bit late, but I'm jumping on the next one right away to have it up by Sunday.

Sorry that I'm so late with this character. I'll be sure to get 019 in before midnight tonight.

    019

This new piece will actually be a WIP. I plan on posting the progression of this piece into this post.

Great work! I like the one's that you shaded the most, it makes the characters much more solid. And overall the characters have been quite varied and creative. keep it up!
