    Koala.one's sketches and that

Hey guys, I'm koala.one. I've been occasionaly visting this site for about 3 years now I think thought it was about time I started my own sketchybook. The reason I havn't posted before now is that I didn't think my stuff was on par with everyone else here, not to say I think I'm good enough now (I don't!) but I figured it's time to stop dicking around.

Most of this stuff is old, some quite recent, but I chose a selection of stuff that I like and thought would give an idea of where I am at atm.

Ofcourse, crits are encouraged, comments on what I should work on in general would be much appreciated. I really crave knowledge to help me move forward.

After the original post I'll be posting only new stuff as it comes. My personal goal is to have a visual record of my progression that I can look back on in the future... or so I hope

    ...

    shall we?

    Wow!
I have no idea why you were worried about putting your work on here!
I love your style. Especially the people sketches.
    Very well done.
The only crit. I have is on a horse from the first post. The anatomy looks a bit goofy.
I really like the dig. of the creepy flying doll looking one.
    Incredible!
    Keep it up buddy!

j a k e : cheers, i prefer my drawings to my digital stuff too atm, but I'm working on bringing them to the same level
Dile_: Yeah sorry about that, the attatchment thing messed up and cleared all the images :o so i had to re upload them again. They're up again now, and some of the poorer ones removed because of the big dl.
kuroart: thanks, i really enjoyed doing the study and hope to finish it and do more in the next few days
anubis713: Yeah, that horse..well it was about the first time I ever drew a horse, and did it without reference (as I'm sure you can tell !) i just went for it as I love seeing horses in other people's art. But yeah you reminded me to do some studies of horses as I evidentaly know nothing of their anatomy! thanks !
    DARAF: cheers pal
Darklord101: I guess my style has some hints of anime in there, since that's all i used to draw (before I saw the light) some years ago. I'm trying to develop my style to more realistic ends, so I'm doing alot of stuff from life. For example all my knowledge of faces is from my days of surfing the net for how to draw manga tutorials, and I just keep putting off re-learning how a face is, how it fits together, and my art suffers for it.

    I'm babbling

New stuff ! Some life sketches, and two quick digis. The one with all the shit is inspired by andrew jones and his use of papers and abstract shapes. The other one uses some of andrew's actual paper textures, I got them from the imagineFX workshop i found on their site. I can't use them nearly as good as he can, but I love the technique, i find it liberating Thanks Android

Haha I know what you mean.. I to was a victim of the anime style but quickly gave up and tried a more comic style which then failed.. So I took the long path of trying to develop my own style. but rather then banting on, Love the updates mate!

very good you started to do a sketchbook finally , you ex- lurker

ok thi sol one from you made me really laugh , because of the happening in there . http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1167454295

this is the coloured one wich i like most because it has captured a great mood, i love the colours on that woman, though i don´t agree how she jumps looks a bit unnatural but who knows . http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1167454428

i also like the last sketchpages including the full body viewreally much to learn from such a model.

your first issues i see is the facehead anatomy , the digital will increase surely with time to time . and your design s are very nice

welcome on board and keep it up

    Darklord101: cheers pal
    Camara: Thankyou
Dile_: Hmm..tough one. I guess i could say all my life. But I guess I started adopting drawing as my 'thing' when I was about 11 or something. But all I drew was manga. I've been drawing seriously for about 2 years though I guess, trying for a more realistic style, re-learning everything, but all my anatomy studies and life drawings and that stuff have been from the last year or so. and thanks !
entdroid: Thankyou, I love that particular paper
GOBLINSHARK: Yes, you noticed my faces weakness. I really should do something about that. I used a ref for the face in the next image, and it's still very poor. Thanks for your observations.
AztcFireFlower: They do ? thanks hehe....

New painting I did today, sorry I havn't updated in ages, loads a stuff was happening, new years etc. I tried to draw through my hangover, but I just flopped on my bed after the 2nd sketch

anyway enjoy and I'll be uploading some drawings tommorrow or something.

Hey, we're attacking the same Master study. You've got a head start on the drawing, tho.

awesome work you've got in here! i'm digging the flow of your linework,
especially those first loose sketches of boars, they were so cool! The last
digital paintings, and i'm mostly pointing at the cool head/helmet thing, were
so rich. i'm a true fan of dark values myself, so keep it up! and i hope your
one of those who updates regularly, cuz i wanna see more popping out of this
    sb in the nearest future

You were worried about posting here? Wow. Go look at my sketchbook, I assure you, you're very well off. I like the look of your stuff, it's sort of bouncy. I think it's the way you use the pencils. You inspired me to do more of those really basic shape poses. I should go sit in public somewhere and just doodle people walking etc. Thanks for the inspiration.
