hey man, thanks for the post in my SB

i really enjoy your anatomy studies, they seem very accurate. i also like the sense of volume in most of your work its very convincing and really helps the believability of the characters and such. i'm curious are you an animation student? or do you do any 3d modeling? you have a few modeling sheet type things.

anyway, keep up the badass updates, and keep learning!

squall787: Thanks, It's always fun to experiment with paper.
TheGnoll: Haha...and I was about to put an explosion coming off the top of the tower, that would been really awkward. Makes you wonder what the story is about now huh?
oma. You flatter me. Thanks. I think Loomis inspires a lot of us.
Kronos: Thanks! I like how animation keeps everything so consistent. I don't happen to be an animation student though, it just very interesting to me. I like clay more than 3d.
Sirio_Brozzi: That site is huge and would be most helpful. I'll be digging for a while. Thanks!

Here is some drawings done from ref and someting different drawing experiment in adobe illustrator.

Hey Pigeon, nice update. Decent variety I liked the third one most, woman in the dress has some nice cloth quality, but the arms/shoulders could use some work. Ba-na-na. How was illustrator? Its pretty damn hard to get a hang of :I Anyways, looking forward to the next update. Later!

u have some really interesting art skills there my friend, specially on the fronts of your anatomical studies, they look nigh on perfect to me. Your facial rendering is also very beautiful to look at and. overall i eel as if your art is a nice compact showcase of your image making talents. Keep them up now!

Sirio_Brozzi: I agree. In the photo she is leaning over so you can see down on her collar bone with her long neck showing. But I made it look like she too long of a neck and cramped on on the shoulders, oops. I like illustrator but it's a bit slow in terms of sketching. It's great for logos or graphic because it's so clean and the image can expand with no problems. I bet there are some guys are can really juice out stuff from the program. Thanks, you have a great eye for details!

Blade-14: Thanks, glad you like the studies. I had a lot of great tips to help me out. I'll keep posting.

JERI:Thanks for recommending that book. It's great with a lot of information and aspects on art I never thought of. Presenting it a bit like language and how it is absorbed? I got a small gig creating some hamster humor spot illustration. I post some of the sketches once I get the go. Be sure to update your sketchbook soon!

Nice going on the studies. The only crit I have is to use varieing line widths to convey weight and a sence of proportion and realism. Keep up the good work.

Nice mixed bag again, lots of styles. The one that takes the cake is the sketchbook page! The first pic with morrigan is interesting, whats the idea behind the spider attack ? :o Really dig the lighting and color for the mouse and cat scene, the initial layout seems promising, although it sorta feels like the cat should be looking directly at the mouse with all the lip smacking and the extended claws. The rendering on that sketchbook page is really nicely done mate Really is fun to look at the slightly plus sized fems, really good sense of lighting. Only thing i notice to be off are the feet(especially of the standing figure) and the way the leg extends to the foot area, they are a tad too small. Nonetheless, really good job on it, looking forward to the next update(and improvements!) ciao.

Hey mate, your studies of that woman are really great! What I do not like is that you outline some shadows, why are you doing that?
Otherwise they look pretty realistic, good job!

    re

Envisor: Thanks I'll try some more line weight for interest.
    Kronos: Thanks. Happy easter!
    Dreamworker: Thanks man.
Sirio_Brozzi: The lip smacking is great idea. I agree with the foot it could be a bit bigger since it's closer to the viewer. O_o spiders are cool? mmm...yea!
Blade-14: There are many ways to make textures in PS here are few I read about or tried.
-You can take a photo of some rocks and grayscale it. Place that image over your painting used blending mode overlay. Turn down the opacity and erase what you don't like.
    - Build up strokes with different colors, forms equal value change.
    - Make a custom brush and use the scatter options to shoot textures everywhere. Not as much control but good start of a background. Hope this helps. I'm still experimenting myself a lot.
Pascallo: Thanks. As for the using the lines in the shadow it was what the study did so I echoed. But yes a solid approach might be been better .
    Cold: Thanks

I took Jeri advice and got somewhat of comic panel project job for experience...suppose to be somewhat humorous? Feedback welcome. Sketches I did for the project for approval.

Hey guys. There was juried show coming up I have excited and busy with. They have some nice competition going. Here is a figure drawing. Pascallo I tried out some different line weight and had fun. I think I made her a bit and a funky looking neck though...oops. Two drawings I didn't post in the sketchbook and a updated painting of the horsemen. Charge!

Hey dude, sorry I couldn't come earlier, I was so pooped!

I'm really honored that my opinions has been particularly helpful to you, I hope I can continue to give you crits that you find helpful.

I wanna mention that you are consistently strong in your anatomy studies, your handling of the lines are delicate and so you not only capture the forms accurately, but they're attractive looking as well. I certainly have things to learn from you too.

I guess one thing I might suggest is to increase the contrast of your sketches/paintings in general. With your pencil sketches I'm not sure, they may appear that way because of the scanner. With your colored pieces however, I feel they can benefit from solid and darker colors. Have you tried adjusting contrast using photoshop?

Just my two cents, hope that's relevant to you.

    re

DennisCurrie: Thanks, you have a great sketchbook.
cucak: I enjoy anime too...let's make conceptart.org the number anime site in the world!...j/k
JERI: NP exams can be a very crazy time for all the last minute cramming. I'm using a lcd screen but I'll try to aim for more contrast for more punch. Keep posting in your sketchbook. Thanks for all the help!
Dreamworker: Thanks I was worried a bit because I didn't know how to draw animals well.
congojack: That's odd actually sometimes I have trouble viewing people's sketchbook too so I end up visiting a few days later. Not sure if it's my internet or traffic on the site. Thanks for stopping by, glad you like the comic.
oma: Thanks I got a lot of feedback to help me.

Here is a drawing with ref used. I was thinking how neat you can photoshop images together so why not do it by hand...actually that just makes it an illustration...come to think of it. Ref used for the Girl.

Update on the knight painting. Still progressing....

    Thanks for all the comments!

TheGnoll: Thanks. I would be a proud but I struggle majority of the time, but it's fun to get some result some of the time. I'll try to stay way from the black, I think I darken the level s a bit too much for contrast. I'll try to add more color.

Dreamworker: Thanks here is an update of the knight.

Let me know if the sky look off, at first it looked like a huge coffe stain or something. The sketchs were concept done for a character at climber.com
