    Aslev's Sketchbook

Hi! I'm one of those swedish guys

I registered here a ca.org quite a while ago, but never came around to actually post something.
I'm hoping that starting a sketchbook like this will help me develop my knowledge about painting and drawing.

If you have the time, please go ahead and critique, i'm thankful for any suggestions.

Right now, i'm trying to work more on my understanding of anatomy and gesture, back to basics.. (not seen in this post though)

Old crap in the top, newer stuff in the bottom. I'm gonna try and update this as often as i can, somewhere inbetween the very busy schedule of day life.

    either from head or studies:

Nice to see you here. Awesomeness in your first post. I always loved this one but didn't know it was yours.

Looking forward to your Weightless entry. I'm sure it will push the quality of the challenge.

hey man, i dig ur pencils. the master study is great too. imo the thumbs are a tad too abstract, even if the topic is weightless. umm, maybe try to place some figures in a few of those, gives the whole thing some scale. i think they would be easier to read then.. blabla, hope this makes some sense. keep posting.

Jabo: hey man, thanks alot! that's very encouraging and nice to hear. funny thing about the spider!

Kicek: thanks! i guess you're right about the thumbs since i didn't see something in all of them, i sort of got the idea from scott robertson in his "creating unique enviroments"-dvd which i liked and tried to do my own version of it.. what i did was making a black layer at first, then add a bunch of selections and just started going crazy with the brushes all over them. quick 'n dirty

designboot: thank you! see you around

something new, inspired by fellah.. beware, the notes are for myself, they are not from any lecture. I may be wrong about things!

  • Thanks for you comment Tommy ! kickass update very nice!
And haha, the notes seems "accurate" to me! Its very nice to write stuff up with pencil, and not always with the computer, I tend to remember better what I write on paper compared with what I write on Screen haha, well thats me, however, the update is looking really nice! so please keep posting !
