the traditional sketches o nthis page u posted are just beautiful, so smooth and lovely, wish i could capture that (post 83)

yeh the nude study- the head looks too wide compared to the width of his torso..like the distance also from the pit of the neck to the bottom of the sternum feels off...same with the upper arm- looks a bit small.. its nicely painted but i think at the early stages the proportions should be your focus!

i'd love to see more. cheers!

    Kuraudo> thanks.

    kuroart> ty!

DIMAGYAN> thanks a lot! yes, i'm definitely at this point in my life where I just keep kind of experimenting, and trying to find what works - my linework is carrying me alright, but i really have to branch out towards coloring things! and yeah haha.. i love that image too, thanks

DECYPL> thanks, i will find out how it will be finished someday ... ^^

    designboot> ty!

purb36> aw tyvm, i'll keep working on that!

    Camara> haha ty

rodrigo!> thanks! letting loose like that once in a while is really my style at heart. and the figure! wow yeah, i was pretty proud of it at one point, but when i go back to class.. i'll probably just start over and definitely get loose with some gestures of him beforehand, ty for the critique!

KOGAKURE> eek! you're gonna make me blush, thanks !

Here are just a few pen sketches !

great work, its very inspiring. I agree with the others about your strokes, they seem very confident and are placed pretty well... or are they?... no, they are.

YOu have an awesome sense of design -- I get the same stylistic tingle I feel when looking at Bengal's stuff. Great sketchbook!

Lovely. Silky smooth line work. I could see you working for capcom or squaresoft in the future. Keep working hard, I wanna see more.

Dig your experiments. You have a strong sense of design, especially like this one in that regard.

This one is my absolute fave - it conveys something intangible and special that very few works do. That's the type of power I want my work to have - kudos on getting there !

Will be following this book, keep posting please!

I adore the sketches, pen so pretty.

Some (not all) of the stuff from your head gets a little stiff but it looks like you're getting better at it so keep up the good work!

Damn, I sure am glad I accidentally clicked your sketchbook! Wanna be my wife? I could pick your brain every day, just kiddin’.

Very dynamic and loaded with emotion! I also love your interesting choice of colour and when I say interesting, I mean beautiful.

I have a theory on this matter.
My national poet (I’m Romanian), had a great command of language, he wrote the most beautiful of love poems and, like almost every genius, died before his age. But that isn’t the point. U see, he was suffering greatly because of a woman. At the age of 27, he was finally OK with his self because things ware looking up regarding this woman (the love of her life). Consequently, his writing got a bit dull, no more flaming passion, no more dieing gods, no more up side down universe, etc. His manager, as it ware, couldn’t let this prodigy of a poet slip out of focus, living his life and not writing the good stuff. Thus he denied the poet his happiness and intervened, breaking the poet’s relationship and I guess ruining his life. Sad but true. The manager got what he wanted, poems ware back to genius level.
So the punch line is, after looking at your artwork, I think you are in love and love hurts as we all know. If I’m wrong about this, just take it as a compliment, your stile is very vivid, just love it.

Sorry if I am impolite posting this, didn’t mean to be rood! I can’t wait to see your next posts, keep it up!

I'd love some constructive criticism : my sketchbook TY for taking the time
Let's all just be friends and chill the f*** out, k ?

Brendan N> thanks a lot. i'm finding my best pieces, or rather the ones that get the most positive feedback at least, are the ones where they just kind of slip out of me instead of the assignments for school - the ones that i dont have to really think too hard on

    er, somehow i gotta bring that into my schoolworks. --;

Blythe> yes i agree - thanks for bringing that up! i'll keep messing around with letting loose.

    cotletan> interesting observation !

Here are just 2 sketches to update this thread. Games over the weekend and at lunch with friends. Enjoy!

Wow, strong! Reminds me of Wes' stuff in some ways. Line work is absolute tops, no crits there. Damn, there's something really powerful about these drawings and I can't place it.
Interesting observation on your best pieces. Wish I could say the same, but right now school is pushing me so hard to explore new ground I find my best stuff is for school.
But seriously, this thread is getting better and better with each post, so keep posting!

your pen sketches are great, i like the loosen feel...
you do graphic narrative?, just wonfering because your sketches from life and imagination has a a story quality, someyhing happens in the frame...i like that, is more fresh than a pose from studio...

keep it up, and have fun...

    Brendan N> thanks ^_^

    Rossouw> thank you hehe

DIMAGYAN> hm, i dont do graphic narrative - sounds fun though! i think maybe i'm putting some feel into it with the amount of sketch i put down, and the placement of the figures in the life drawings. I do tend to consider that quite a bit !

Hehehe, another update for today. Doodle from earlier and 2 hours into photoshop for fun - enjoy!

Thank you for your comment in my sb!
Wow, what an amazing sketchbook! There is so much spontaneity in your drawings, and at the same time they are very accurate. I love the pen drawings, and especially how you combine graphic design elements and different styles!

Excellent stuff here Naomiful - thanks for sharing : ) You have that great "sketch hand" style that I love so much in your sketches. It makes them feel really alive, even when they are simple. Keep up the great work.
