FactorZero> well, just a ninja... and the poses perhaps in the future ^^
    Derlaine> hehe thanks
Stark> Yes he is metrosexual, and thanks with the crits on the ear and legs... I actually just shortened his arms this time around! I hope it helps
DennisCurrie> Awesome - a great compliment that I can inspire
    Wake101> aw thanky
    Badaboom> Hey! Yeah... a bit wonky with them, but I think I fixed the pirate's face and the ninja's height problem. The sword however ... -_-; I'm really pressed with time to do other components of the project, that I will have to fix at a later date. ;;
    bhanu> thank you!
    Envisor> :3 hehe

ALRIGHT - ok I think this is final with the pirate and ninja.. yes he is metrosexual and all that. He was looking rather weird and I hopefully fixed his height problem by shortening his arms a bit. The pirate's face was showing too much of the far side, and the ear, you know.. I fixed the ear by eye though - if it still looks funky, lemme' know. Also, I fixed the layers of where her portrait was to be the same as the ninja's so they looked somewhat similar. C/C welcome !

Hey wow the little textures is making these go so much further, well done!
Think you've fixed them both up very well.
You might want to flatten the image and go (in PS) Image > Adjustements > Auto Contrast.
Sometimes it just helps bind the image a bit, dunno see what work for you.

Really love your work, keep us updated!
    cheers!

    Naomifuuuul~

Thanks for the comment in my SB
Love your soft style and your recent characters are awesome. With the ninja's ears I might say they need a bit more attention. It looks kind of not really part of his head.

    Cheers!

Great job here. The improvements are noticeable. Though it may be just his stance that is throwing everything off for me. I'll shut up and stop nit-picking

    Brendan N> Alrighty will do
Julianna> Oop, yeah they do.. thanks !
Stark> Hey hey! I grow from the nit-picking xD keep on it ... but sorries, for this tiny moment I have to move onto other big issues x___x
    Noukah> oh me
DeKal> Sooo ... yeah.... I never once at all thought about that this entire process and no one else has either, ahahaha - ty, I'll try to get it in there at some point.
    Idiot Apathy> Thanks
spudstudios> haha .. she may start a new fad...
Razorb> Aw thank you for your kind words.

Duuude, SM's facial expression was REALLY bugging me and I couldn't let it just sit there any longer. So, after some deliberation with this facial expression book I got and always neglect and sneer reference from random stock and google, I came out with this.

    She's supposed to be sneering a little, with crazy eyes - I couldn't find an image with both components to reference from. ; ;

Lemme' know what you think !

Edit: I decided to add the whole image in case no one responds or sees it in the SWinProgress section.

Awesome work with the new sneer, she looks less like she's about to cry now. =D. Still getting the swiss cheese effect on the sword though, I don't know exactly why.

by the way i absolutely love the one with the girl coming out of the black entity...i actually like the sketchier version of it better than the more worked version you put up...i dont know, the girl kinda loses something in the painted version...

well, she definitely looks a lot more crazy than before xD Kudos with that. But..I just..can't see the sneer. She simply looks extremely angry and extremely insane.

Hey Naomiful! thanks for the comment in my book
Your latest WIP has potential, but your not really selling the foreshortening of the arm in my opinion, it looks far too small to be coming at us, especially in comparison to her head. Her hand and the sword should be much bigger, and the arm would naturally follow.

Also, the perspective of the skull on the shoulder should be looked at, its seeming really flat.

Great concept work... heck seeing you doing such kick ass work
makes me ashamed, I must get my lazy bum up and do some kick
ass stuff like your doing I'm really inspired by watching your
latest character sheets, oh and about the last one just double
check the foreshortening and cloth folds on a mirror, also I think
the body might be a bit too small even if its further away form the
hand and the saber... something about its proportion bothers me.
Aside that, make the sneering more visible, you could move
one of the nostrils slightly up, remember that the movements
you do with the mouth affect the nose and the cheeks, right now
the nose is not affected by the movement of the mouth muscles,
and the cheeks are pretty static too... think chain of reaction
if you move one area of the body_face the rest follows; don't pay it safe
on the expression, EXAGGERATE it, then reduce it till you are satisfied.

Oh and take my advise with tons of salt,
I'm just figuring this stuff my self GREAT work overall!

Great update. It's good to see your using a number of references to create your own image, definitely the way to go. I'm really liking the highlights on that last piece. Keep it coming I look forward to the finish.

Sealegs> hahaha that is so awesome! Thanks for stopping by, hehe
Voice> haha, thanks for the crit - :3
DeKal> yeah, i def see what you mean. over time getting to know different techniques i do want to try and "finish" it, although the sketched version is best so far. ^^ I think I want to make it more finished as in, slightly more anatomically correct.
    Bard>
n0ireclipse> yeah ic ic.. thanks !
Amazing Action Ape> Thanks for the crits~ will be trying to change all those at some point. ^^
maxetormer> hmm.. yeah ! I do have a tendency to be timid when coming at my work and sllooooowwwwlllly building it. I will take that info into consideration next time. And whaaaat - I will definitely take your criticism seriously, you are awesome.
    GriMBabalon> Thanks !
Belze> Wow that is such a huge compliment, thank you! Put a link in your signature or if I see your sb when I look through I'll drop a line.
dakoscwash> Thanks ... I'm such a slowbie that I couldn't finish before having to move onto other things. :/ I have all summer though...
Solon> thanks! hmmm... I don't know if there is a "correct" way to use them haha, I do mix them sometimes, and definitely glaze to build up. On a lot of surfaces though where building up, I put matte medium over each layer I work. x__x;; haha.. so that the layers don't mess with eachother and blend up.
    Vahn> Thanks!

A few sketches and reworked stuff and a new project.

    I'm sleepy ; ;

I've beat this one up .. blah. I will finish eventually, but for now I took up so much time that I have to move onto other things for my classes. Thank you all for the awesome critiques - I'm gonna' keep them in mind when I go back to it!

A new painting for the class that I did the pirate ninja stuff for. Just a portrait of someone/thing so I chose Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. This is a wip of course..

    Enjoy ~!

Difficult perspective shot on that girl with the sword, but it looks like it's materializing well, definitely can tell the layout at a first glance. Your pieces are also becoming much more crisp now so good job, nice improvements.
