Hey naomi, great updates as always: the colouring is going really well, looks very professional.
I'm going to give a go at that page of yours, though I should warn you it'll not turn out like a comic at all, perhaps more like a bad mckean illo or something hehe. I'll try not to ruin it .

cheers naomi, keep updating!

This is a really nice sketchbook, I love the way you draw stuff in such a soft way. It was also really cool to be able to see you draw in sketcher when it was still here. Keep up the awesome work, and I'll look forward to updates

Hey, you fixed the scar on the pirate girl! Awesome! The comic book is coming along really nicely...really feeling it. Are you publishing it or are you gonna make it an ezine or something?

Also, the sketcher girls are awesome...

Hey Naomi,

thought I'd give you a heads up - played around with that drawing of yours (had tons of fun with it).

Hope I didn't ruin it too much, thanks for letting me have a stab. Can't wait to see you own coloured version now, show us!

cheers!

The lighting in that last picture is absolutely amazing, but I'd have to agree with FactorZero about the other colored pictures. I wanna see some more dynamic color choices! xD

Awesome sketches as per usual

bluefruitbowl> ty, it is a brush pen yes, hehe. the pen drawings are like breathing for me, they are very enjoyable ... like breathing o.o;; haha
})i({> :]
Brendan N> I really love your version of that page, haha.. it's awesome to look at - thanks for taking the time to mess around with it
Jason Snair> Thank you ~ :3
FactorZero> OH IT IS SO ON xD waffles are the real truth. And with the colors, hm... I'm going to have to agree with you a little, but I feel I am definitely coming out of the blah color shell, slowly but surely.. and the legs on Mary, yes, that leg is hella long! But the one closest to us is a little foreshortened, or so I thought! hehe - I'm thinking of doing a diff image altogether --;
monstertree> thanks monster! and sketcher is still around, haha.. the link is in the sketcher thread
Stark> The comic is a lil school assignment ~ so... i doubt i will publish it
Spats> thanks!
n0ireclipse> Ok ok ok!@ haha, ty
Envisor> thanks ^_~ ... here's a hesitant update with the pirate >>;;

Sketcher scribble and the pirate lady, Sealegs Mary. This is my first ever concept design thingie put together like this aahhhhhh ; ; critiques/comments are welcome - the ninja will be put together the same way. This project has been total frustration for me ~ /cry

great stuff. Her baggy eyes makes her look a tad like Walkens. I'm not sure that's a good thing... Walkens is kickass; but Walkens is a dude, which Sealegs Mary isn't

Hello, I'm asking around conceptart about the pencil shading, maybe you have some input...
so I like your style and Marko etc. but how do you do it without getting smudged and so few lines. I think I can get it but with a ot of cover ups afterwards Then it looks henscratched and smudged.
I would really like to know this because I would love to work in comics but
xhatch is cookoo for me, and I don't want to smudge anymore...

Beautiful and Killer stuff, btw!

haha thanks naomi, glad you liked .
Dig the last bunch of sketches, nice diversity to the work you're doing right now. With the colouring - I'm fine with the colours, I don't think a comic's colours should be too experimental and way out since it needs to be easy to read with so many smaller comps on a bigger comp. I do think you can vary brushes and brushwork some more, but again not too much. Just that almost unnoticeable hint of texture here and there.

Keep it up, these are great!
cheers!

aaaahhhhhh

Bard> I go through thumbnails and often a final rough sketch for characters then either draw from there the final image on bristol or use a light board to trace if it is the right size. I understand.. I totally freak out if I smudge my pencil work, so I used a pencil board, or if I don't have that on hand my pencil case. good luck
koshime>
fooxoo> thanks! I'm rather frustrated with that image at the moment, but I will definitely tighten it up in the future.
Brendan N> thanks! Once you said the different brushes thing, I went to photoshop and started using different brushes. --;; Thanks lol ~ I agree
Unbreakable> thanks!
chaosrocks> :3

OK.......... here goes. >< Um so yeah there isn't a set style of brushwork going on here, I dunno if it is really apparent.. experimentation within my project, but it's all good. It's not really turning out the way I am hoping, but then I'm not sure what I am hoping for, haha. I will get there sometime I'm sure - but for now, I wanna' call these finished. I like them kinda' sorta' for the most part-ish -

Stay tuned within the next few days for their environments, ways of moving around, and the final illustration with one of them in their environment. The previous one with the crazy pirate I'm kinda' leaning away from. ; ;

Don't be nice to these ~ I feel I need some help! haha

Is Indigo a metrosexual? Also, he could use either a little longer torso or longer legs...looks rather short... and I know it's your style, but watch the girls ear and the clothing on Indigo...I doubt muscles would show through like that...

Hi darling. Very good updates, as usually. You have a very clean line, it seems that you really know where are you gonna put everything before actually use the pen. Also like a lot the use of light, like in the "surprised/crazy" sketch of Sealegs Mary, looks like a good start.

Don´t like specially the Indigo designs, he looks a little bit off proportion (like a little short, isn´t it?) and the muscles are too defined for my taste, but this is just a personal opinion. Isn´t the scimitar blade facing the wrong side?

Btw, your drawings remember me I should start again drawing ladies, I´ve been working with only macho men and critters for too long. Hope to see you around in my SB, I´ll be watching yours!
