Make a conceptart entry for the following topic:
No creature which eats elves AND makes baubles!!!
Choose one creature and state it clear, if it's not obvious!

"He rolls up in a dark corner and looks like something bright, colorful, fuzzy and soft. Very pleasing to an elf, adn as they approach to touch it, it strikes!"
edit: looking back now this looks like more of a charactr then a creature i guess so probly wont end up in the voting. No time to change it this weekend though cuz family stuff for Xmas. Oh well first try's a bust, heheh. Ill get it next time! :-)

Ok, here's all I got....couldn't finish.
It was easily one of my favorite topics of the year...just ran outta time.
My story behind this was going to be that this Elf Eater would lay in the snow and appear to be a winter wonderland for elves. His back was going to have the markings of snow and have trees on it, along with colorful growths which resemble fun rides. Then when there were plenty of elves he would jump up and start munching.

Cold winds blow through the artic night… Taskmaster Santa rules with fright.
Toys are to be made but at what cost… Elves are enslaved with all hope being lost.
Life at the North Pole is anything but jolly… Escape is not possible to do so is folly.
Red and green worms attached upon the head… fill the elves thoughts with terror and dread.
Zombies they are, doing Santa’s bidding… the story is true, and you thought we were kidding.
The Artic Brain-sucking Worms have been used by Santa for hundreds of years. Once he found that he was in need of a larger and larger workforce to make toys for all the greedy children of the world. He decided to enslave the Elfish worker population … placing the worms upon their bald heads, allowing them to parasitically feed upon elfish brain matter and making their hosts complacent…easy to suggestion. Now screams in the night do more than any magic spell could to keep away visitors to the cold factories of the north.
Merry Christmas… enjoy your presents.

CURIOSITY KILLED THE ELF
Teddybear Elf Killer:This creature uses a real teddy bear as almost a shell to provide camoflauge. It makes an opening in its stomach to look like it needs to be repaired, thus making a curious elf come close enough to be attacked.

WIP Slobbering Were Muncher
Work in progress
I've just noticed that my creature resembles Migsta's a little, sorry m8this is wholly unintentional.
The Elf eaters stalk the North Pole, particulary the icy glaciers around Christmas town. These horrible creature lie in wait buried beneath the snow, with just their candy cane horns sticking out. When a hungry elf draws near, it jumps out and devours the tasty little blighters (elves are rumoured to taste like cinnamon). The Eskimos of Greenland say that elf eaters are the result of a were-wolf eating an elf, one taste of such scruptious delight fules their hunger to extremes and slowly turns them in to Slobbering Were Munchers, or elf eaters as they are more commonly known...
let me know what ya think

I have a question..
Now, because there is a "double topic" will we be picking a winner for Bauble Maker and a winner for Elf Eater?

Ikuru, thanx for the advice mate. I went back and researched some things about frog skin, which i believed has really helped
This ugly creature is known as an Elf-Eating Grubbolugg. It spends most of it's time hiding in tall trees and what-not, waiting patiently for a poor, innocent elf to get too close. The elf is attracted to the site by the glowing cheeks of the Grubbolugg. The nearer the elf creeps, the more fiercely the cheeks glow, increasing the curiosity of the individual. When the victim is finally in range, the glowing disappears and in an instant the Elf-Eating Grubbolugg strikes, dragging it's victim into the trees where the poor elf is devoured.

Goddamn, just as I want to take the photo of my sketch the fucking camera's batteries go....
Anycase - here's the basic concept, still need to better the wording:
Santa is not who most people believe he is. He is not the happy chap that make the most important day in Christian religion feel really really good. No, he is actually out to pollute that day with materialism. His real identity can be discovered when you place the "n" in his name at the back. Yes, Santa = Satan. This is further proven by his trademark colour - red - and his figure in German Folklore - Saint Nicolas. Now you know why they call the Devil "Nick". This is further substantiated by his tendency to clime down chimney into fiery places, his witchcraft of making a sled fly through the sky and his weight - 666 lb.
The cold hard truth is that the elves have never willingly worked for Satan. They are forced to work under extremely tough condition. To keep them from escaping, Satan employed hellish beasts and demonic creatures to guard possible escape routes. One such beast is the "Butcher Dog." The creature feeds on the elves, but instead of digesting them completely, only the blood is sucked out of them (internally). The raw flesh is then crapped out and collected by other minions. The lifeless bodies are then chopped up and fed to the other elves, who must knowingly eat their comrades in order to survive. Apparently God has refused to help the elves because they continue to wear excessively gay costumes and sees the Butcher Dog as a blessing in disguise for getting rid of the costumes one by one.

But Only the Red cristmas teddy knows for sure.
Btw. I think you got a nice creature there, but I would advice you to keep working on the render, more light on the belly area maybe, some shadows and some highlights... More detail in genneral. Look at what the best guys are doing and let it "inspire" your work.
