New thread. I need to get my ass back in gear, and that will hopefully be partly achieved by starting fresh on these forums. Here are some drawings that I think triggered this urge to really get back to drawing.

Whats with the goofy chick?
;P
Keep it up Profil, don't let it die..
Agreed. I want lots of anatomy!
YEY!! cheers to this new sketchbook![]()
I never saw this one - http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1166134547
the funny thing with it, is that it looks deformed, though in a very realistic way. or wait.. maybe that was the idea? Nice one anyways. hehu
tiger
*whistles* *kicks up the ass* get to it!
Zynic: thanks and I will try
Dtemp: thanks and yes, partly.
asoir: it's my girlfriend
jake: yeeeesss
tiger:it's my girlfriend
asoir: yes
I've been away this weekend, did some anatomy studies etc, nothing worth showing. It's unbelieveable how little of the anatomy studies that have actually stuck in my grey matter. It's frustrating.
Anyway, I've started to enjoy my art more and more and I'm going to try and draw pictures that I want to do from my imagination more and more. Here are some imagination and a sketch from a sergeant pastel potrait.
edit: no, she isn't my girlfriend, it was just a model that looked weird.
B.) some of these drawings took way longer then it look like it did for them. Anyway, the lonley guy is supposed to have a deformed skull. I'm doing some fucked up dancer series or something and his name is Shontel and he is a dropped crack baby.
I've had an epiphany.
Almost all of my anatomy studies have been mindless copies, of course I learnt some but I could've learnt so much more. I discovered this immense lazyness after 2.5 years..... OOps, some of the blood from my wrists stained the screen.
I'm aiming for consistency, at least 2 hours drawing every day, and this wil bel built up, hopefully, rapidly.
1. Warmup. I love hot pants. On girls. And next to them.
2. (all of these drawings are from today, did other drawings too but I'm lazy/they suck) Leg studies, Kchen and bridgman I think.
3. Me trying to apply some of what I've learnt......
4. One leg study, rest from my mind.
5. Quick very poorly done non-refed poses. But at least they are getting better.
Awesome stuff Profil! Long time no talk
Kick the rendering up a notch. More contrast, 'specially on the faces to give them more form. Awesome work.
-Dished
haha, sexy legs profile ! *dont get me wrong , talking about your drawings*
The lines and way of drawing in 1 and 3 reminds me lots of Floris Didden, wich is everything exept badso good line work there , a little loose but still lots of control! more of these!
In numbero four, the left leg studie is a little wierd, I cant put my finger on it, but the whole thing looks mis-shaped, the silhouette itself looks wierd.
Keep studying, its looking very good man =)
~Dile
dished: yes and thanks.
Dile: yeah, the proportions of the upper leg are off. Thanks
I've been drawing more, just that they are boring crappy pencil studies.
anyway, here is a potrait I did. I don't know if I feel to work on it more. The less rendered is the one that looks mostly like her, and the one I prefer, the second one is the version I spent most time on, but I got carried away.
It's my first referenced potrait on a tablet, so I'm kinda happy with it. A bit bummed out though that I wasn't careful enough.
it looks cool, though you seem to be trying a bit too hard to mix hard edged brushes with soft edged. 'specially when it comes to the hair, which is a really tricky aspect of the head. She looks very symetric though, and that's nice. Good expression.
Keep it up!
tiger
Tigermilk: yeah, true. I need to learn that, and a ton of more stuff![]()
The photo sucks though, so I had to improvise a lot, hence the horrible hair. I should probaly just simplify that to three different planes and let it be.
Just a picture to fill this post with something

Didn't draw that much today. Did some Hogarth study but that and this is what I did. Anyway, about an hour, OC.
Looks too cartoony. Please come with critiques on values, anatomy, whatever.
edit: I made it smaller.
And I see that the throat area is terrible, should've left that alone until I studied it closer.
School started, bleh.
Did these under school. All of them are done fast, cause they were done during classes or in between (the last one). I don't really like these anymore, but I said to myself I was going to post something so here they are.
edit: last page is done from life. Well, the top left small figure is based on life, looked on a girl every now and then, and the top right small figure is from my imagination. The big figure is a fast gesture from life.
Good stuff with the studies and anatomy Profil. I can see alot of progress with your facial construction. Keep it up mate!
dude!!! that is some massive massive process since when i first saw your art at nar's!! man you have to get back into it, i know the feelingkeep it up and keep going!
Hey dude, that portrait turned out way cool! Work on the initial block-in using huge brushes more, i think thats whats holding your potential back.
The latest sketches show that youve made some good progress in the imagination/construction department, but some variety couldnt hurt either. Try drawing something other than a shirtless bald guy![]()
hey good too see you are back!
nice studies!
A sketch I did today. Did it while I waited for the bus, worked on it a bit now when I got home.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Good job with the anatomy, but his jaw/chin seems off. Since youre looking at him topdown it would be more foreshortened like the rest of the face is, but its sticking out too much in the drawing, making him look like he has a hugeass chin. Push that thing farther into his head.
you got a computer at the bus stop?![]()
SGS: yeah, you are right. Thanks.
Anyway, here's some shit.
The first one started with me laying down some quick construction lines then refining them (this was done in a fast manner). I felt to lay down some values, and it looked good, so I continued. So the proportions are a bit off. The second one is just... nudity
They are reffed
Nice stuff mate ^^
Keep posting, I want to see more of your progress
Do some more studies, and a lot of stuff from your mind ;D
After all, you have to keep your mind sharp, since a dull one leads to nothing but agony ;D ( OMG, POETIC! )
Grymma grejer! pumpa mera konst mannen!
Thanks.
From Sargent if anyone wonders. I like old men, but I'm not a golddigger.
edit: go ahead and crit.
Paper size is A5
draw MORE !!!!
cheers buddy looking great!
