Dude. Your work is fantastic! Seriously! It's got such a nice flow to it, but it's so bright... You work with ink a lot right? Same here, but, y'know, I don't really have your skills... Amazing. I'm subscribing.

Yeah so I visit this thread every now and again because it reeks of cool.
I really dig your style and your line work; I love to see hyper-original stuff.
Those two portraits in 353 are great.
    Hope to see more...peace out

    oh, here's my sketchbook.

Thanks for all the support everybody! It's awesome to have some new people check out my work and give me feedback. I have a ton excuses as to why I haven't been posting lately(moving, xmas, getting sick, getting sick from drinking too much, etc) but I'm sure once I get back into the groove of my normal life I'll be getting more work done. Just been one of those times that I've had to just focus on all the rest of the stuff in my life.

A coworker asked me to do some graphic work with a picture of his car. I enjoyed doing this so far and I'm hoping that he asks me to get a little bit crazier with the design part of it(like painting it and getting rid of the photo all together).

    Ahoy hoy -- You've gota 5 star thread now!!!! -- That's recent.

I quite like your style still. it's very consistant and rarely strays. That's hard to achieve I think.

Anyways, it's good to see you're still alive. Hope to see more and more

    Keep improving! peace

I'm really into this sketchbook. You've got a great feel for lineweights, gives everything a really polished, simple look, even if it's purposefully messy, it's precise.

    Good stuff, man.

ped454 - haha 5 stars are down to 4 already... I'm a 4 for sure. I think this whole star rating is funny shit. And I'm still alive, just barely...

    Mex - cheers bro

bhanu - Thanks, I don't think my client is going to get me to do a full paint over.

IanE - That's awesome that you think that because that's a huge part of what I'm going for. Messy and clean at the same time. Hard to achieve for sure! Still have a long way to go.

Justin - What's going on buddy?! Thanks for showing me what you're digging, it helps. I want to do more like the first one you pointed out. Aren't you still doing the sketchgroup thing?

Tigermilk - Cheers! Yah, I've been so busy lately with moving, work and all that crap. When I do get a chance to do anything I've been getting this car done. I've actually really enjoyed doing this mindless graphics stuff for a bit(I do mean a bit... go nuts if all I did was this stuff)... just listen to tunes and zone out. I need to get a bit more like that when I do my sketchbook stuff... just zone out and not really think too hard about what I'm laying down.
I'll have more "paper miracles" soon, haha. Good name for a site or company name.

Here's some edits that I did for the car...

smokenmirrors - thanks for the thumbs up! There are a lot of artists in Juxtapoz that are influences on my work.

I've had that energy lately! All I want to do is sit and draw which has been rare for the last few months. I wish I could always feel this way. Thanks to anyone that still checks my work out... I know I haven't been the most productive artist lately.

wow Sketch, you've been busy!! I love it! I sure hope you're able to keep up this level of productivity... I've missed your posts.

speaking of Juxtpoz, you should turn some of these into paintings or something... your work is edgy enough to definitely get you somewhere fast in that realm of art. I'm totally serious... go do it... NOWWWWW

BC - Thanks for the continued support! I am getting a small studio space near the end of this month and I'll be able to get more into some bigger traditional pieces.

Flaskpost - this is what I'm going for... I want my work to show that I was grooving when I made it. Just want it to have energy and not look to stiff.

bhanu - looking forward to hearing your proper crits! haha, also waiting on more stuff from ya

Here's a couple recent ones. First one I lost energy on and it just kinda died... some good stuff going on, I guess. Second one I'm stoked on. It has the balance I'm looking for.

Hey whats up sketch, I saw you snoopin in my sketchbook the other day,

I like that last one you posted, the guy with the glasses is just great.

The one before it, did you purposely design the 4 characters to look in the shape of one big guy? Cause thats what it looks like, but then I'm wondering if that was your intention because you have some beginnings of 2 other characters and you said that you lost energy while working on it, but I think those other 2 would have ruined that great design you have there.

Truly great use of shapes in the last few posts.

    wuha,
some very nice updates since i´have been here the last time!
i like this direction very much:
    http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...tt/sb6_pg4.jpg
very loose and a great character design.
would be perfect in an animation.

keep this up, your design skills leveled up again i think =)
do you plan on doing a story or maybe a comic interpretation of a rap song?
    (that would be awesome)

Mr-Joe - yah, I've been checking out everyone's books again. I was kind of absent for the past few months. Glad you like the sunglasses guy. I put way more time into the other guy but ended up loving the 'Hype Man' way more. He has the energy I'm always looking for... like if I was doing live painting or something. Haha, wasn't thinking about making the figures one big figure (like Voltron). Does kinda look like it though. Maybe I'll try something like that soon.

andreas - Fuck yah, I've leveled up!!! haha, but I do feel like I'm progressing which is an awesome feeling.

Here's one from work last night... I really need to make a trip to the art store and pick up some new pens because my old ones are starting to ruin my pics.

Here's a couple more that I have scanned. There's some more that I'll get to later today or tomorrow. It's been awesome that all I want to do lately is draw and I haven't been worried or stressed about how it'll turn out.... good feeling. By the end of this month I should have my new workspace and a new website!

I think there might be something wrong with my sketchbook thread. It looks weird in the sketchbook list. Hopefully it's not facked! It's always fun to start a new one though.

Yo. I know how you feel. I think ive been drunk or high on benadryl since Chrismas, maaaaad slackin. 2 months straight celebratin bein back in the NY. I was gonna bang out some shit the other day and then Cloverfield took care of that. My boy has On Demand so... you know... The Wire 24-7

I dig your characters, also love to see more stuff in the direction that justinbeckett pointed out as well, got that gritty feel goin fer it.

Miles and Kroger - thanks guys! I usually watch most of the shows like The Wire but I haven't gotten around to checking it out. I will eventually.

Well here's one that didn't turn out at all. I like trying these though... make a abstract shape and work off of it. I think I need to make a better shape to begin with. Still figuring it out.

    couple crappy ones

Just did these guys and I'm feelin better about myself, haha

I really enjoyed looking at this Sketch Book... I have been drawing since i could pick up a pencil but i have also been doing graffiti for years and years so looking at this page made me realize i should definitely post up some of the images with graff on them because it truly is a different style from how I've been drawing lately and i should post those images to let people see some of my versatility... SO, overall i wanna say thanks for the inspiration and the reminder.... Keep it up because all the images look good, the line work, the black and whites, everything is up to par....
