    The N00b art thread.

oh come on, you know what I'm talking about... We come to CA.org everyday and get blown away by the massive amount of good art! and rightfully so. But what about those "golden" days of art, where you would draw ninja turtles and sell them for a quarter each to all of your friends. Or the days when you would draw straight from your head and you could care less wether you knew where the rectus pemoris, trapezius, or the latissimus dorsi were placed on the figure. (much less knew what they were.) In other words, the days you try to forget about. The beginning days of your art! We all had to start somewhere...

I thought this could be a fun and light-hearted thread where we could post such drawings/paintings/sculpture/etc.. a little bit of nostalgia for us all and providing some good laughs. Maybe provide some inspiration/assurance for those that are starting out. It would be great to see some professionals join in on this just for fun sake. I searched CA for a thread like this, but unfortuneatly I didn't find anything. If it's against the rules, I suppose just delete this, mods.

    Some rules:
    - please post only your OWN art.
    - it would be nice to know the age you were at the time you finished it.
    - Please no critiquing, bashing, rude comments, muffin baking...
    - If you were able to paint the Sistine Chapel at the age of 7, please don't post it.
    - you don't have to post if you don't want to...duh.
    - don't make images too big (I doubt there will be that much detail that we have to see..)
    - you don't have to post a big ol' dump of work...we get the idea...
    - I wanna see some crude, unknowledgable, disproportioned, juicy art!

SO to be fair, i'll go ahead and start this off with some masterpeices from my early days of art:

    Awesome skeleton man, 14yrs old:
    The N00b art thread.

Sweet-ass army space man, oh the humanity! 14yrs:
    The N00b art thread.

hand studies, 15 yrs (no ref hahaha):
    The N00b art thread.

and a horrible portrait, one of my first. 15/16 yrs:
    The N00b art thread.

Cool, so let's see 'em guys and gals!

awesome Jake, that's what I'm talking about. The good ol' days. It's amazing how one can improve in less than a year with lots of studying.

First picture: Done when I was 12. Took me hours... and hours.

Second picture: Took me about 30 minutes on an online drawing java applet (paintchat). Done this year; I'm 18. I couldn't find anything that was work-safe to post other than this that's really recent.

Something I did in '03. I was 14 or something.
Something a did a year later, when I was 15... ish.
Something I did a few days ago. I'm 17 now.

I had an anime phase, a goth/anime phase, and now I'm onto my "weird shit" phase.

I dont really remember haha. This is what I get for not signing old works D: Ah well, im 18 now, so its a tad bit old.

ah.. I went to take a look at my drawings from the age of 14.. And they were actually pretty good!
I'm editing this post after what Dtile posted about posting your best work from when you just started, and posting your best work now.

So here are two of my best works from when I just started, I was about 14,5 I think. Right now I'm almost 17 and I don't feel I've improved a lot looking back to it. The only thing I can find is that it's taking me a lot less time to draw things "the right way".
Oh also note that at this time (age 14-15) I was depressed and stayed awake all night trying to sleep or drawing sad stuff ^^
The N00b art thread. The N00b art thread.

    Here are four things I found in the very beginning of my sketchbook from when I was about 15,5.. This was at the beginning of when I started actually practicing a few times a week to get better;
The N00b art thread. The N00b art thread. The N00b art thread. The N00b art thread.

    So now I'm almost 17 and the best thing I could find at the end of my sketchbook was this;

Awww, this thread is sooo cute!

Tex, that's so violent and cool! Rblitz7, love the "goodbye" to the witch.

Here are some that I had already scanned. The painting doesn't count, because my dad drew it and then I just painted it. It is technically my first oil painting though
