Yeah, its an impressive feat, but I think it owes more to a reckless streak than guts.

Its the kind of thing a lot of spoilt, ostensibly talentless rich kids do to get attention. He's was probably bored waiting for his trust fund to mature.

    jesus!

skiing alone scares the crap outa to begin with...this...this...is just insane. It was awesome to watch though.

I would say that there is some skill involved here, I mean, everytime he landed he would steer himself in the right(ish) direction...but there's also a good amount of "okay..Wind...be nice, please don't shoot me off the wrong side of the mountain. deal? Wind? hello? What are you laughing about Wind?"

EEP! No thanks, I'm afraid of heights and anyplace where you can distinctly see the curvature of the earth qualifies.

Such skill though, I thought to myself - shit! That's a rock buddy, lookout!

Well, having broken my backbone in a paragliding accident some years ago, I know I wouldn't do that in that kind of environment. Winds are often unpredictable when going past a cliff and the glider could have folded on itself many times during the decent (like it did when *I* had my accident) but well, when everything works well, it has to be an incredible feeling. There is some ski gliding in 'normal' ski trails and if you have the chance to try with an instructor, I really recommend it.

I dunno; I find that ski-glide vid to be much more intense than base jumping. This guys has crazy skills and seem to know that mountain side like the back of his hand. A-MAZING.
