I'm looking for decent books to teach myself

Well basically I've decided that I'm not going to university and I'm going to train myself up as a concept artist, leaning towards character and environment design. Are there any books that you guys could recommend me? Any other advice will be helpful too. Thanks.

Click on the links in my sig called "Concept Art 101" and "game industry".
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Perspective 101, Concept Art 101, Games Industry info,Oil Paint info, Acrylic Paint info, my sketchbook.

you are on conceptart! wtf??? no need for books... Read and Ask Questions.
Right now there is a thread in the finally finished section from ron lemen with information you won't find in any book!

(of course there are some real valuable books. But you don't even know yet what you are looking for so take some time and have a look at some of the tutorials in this forum. Also a good way to find out more about the books you will want to buy)
