I'm not really a fan of the series, but that trailer is pretty cool, I watched like about 5 times yesterday. And the game has some really nice music. It seems like one of those dream jobs games to design for.

I used to be very anti-halo, the whole multilayer experience was nothing more than a bunch of 12 year olds calling each other ΦΦΦs over the internet. it won me over with co-op play, that's a ton of fun on heroic or legendary.

as far as the trailer goes it looks very neat, the shield grenade could add some interesting game play elements, i liked the trailer for halo wars better though.

    Halo halo
too bad I feel nauseous after playing almost any 3D game for like half an hour. Ah well I guess it's for the best, else I wouldn't have much time left for other things.
    Nice trailer yes

i usually a big halo fan when im actually playing it. when im not.. i dont really care one way or the other cuz i dont even have an xbox. but it is a bad ass game and this new one looks better than the others. Halo Wars should also be pretty good and hopefully the movie wont blow it all away by sucking.. - JAG

Nope, there are plenty of them scattered across the net

Personally I love halo, but I'm not going to spout things about how halo does innovative things with first person shooters. It doesn't. I just think what it does, it does RIGHT. I've always based a game on how well I could control it, and for me, I pretty much love halo just for the super-tight controls.

You can coop ??? Well. Maybe I can enjoy that game after all. The trailer was nice. I thought I saw a broken camera axis in there but overall I'm sure it'll please all the targeted consumers. And that's what counts.

Actually you are probably one of the 50-150 xbox owners who has never picked it up.
halo 2 is actually recorded as the biggest grossing opening day (it sold a shitload of copies when it came out first day) in entertainment history.

Impress me not, prerendered trailers do. Realtime footage provide, they must. And from what i've seen the ingame stuff don't look all that hot. Whats up with all that noise overlay, texture stretching and no variation in the spec?

//edit: To clarify what i mean by noise overlay, take a look at the model and see how low-rez the normal map is in some places, it gets really pixellated and blurry. But then you have this super crisp detail map laid over it to give a sense of detail when you zoom up. It can be a neat trick, but now it just looks cheap, and makes the mjølnir look eroded or something. And the diffuse? Its just green! (i know that master chief is green, but hey, is it too much to ask for atleast TWO SHADES of green?

Well, every screenshot from the back of a game or in any (hopefully...) independent game reviews (Gamespot, IGN, etc) has post-production eye-candy to pleasure the users. This is being done for several years now.

I think pre-rendered cinematics and ingame have a very hard time coexisting because they are part of two different worlds. This trailer (more like teaser) stands on it's own. That mentionned and as you know, we must wait for screencaptured ingame footage. NEVER believe released "screenshots". Sometimes they're sub-par to the game because the marketing artists pose characters when the ingame asset doesn't exist. Sometimes (and most of times), Dan_Grr is right; There's a fair share of massaging put in these babies. Whether it's a higher res model slapped on top of ingame assets or Photoshop fixups.
