    New Character Designs

    Hi,

Been inspired by the great artwork posted on this site for quite sometime. Finally decided to post some character designs from my portfolio. They were done with cool grey markers, pen and ink, and a little touch up in Photoshop.

    Comments welcome.

They look great, I like your style. One crit though, you might need to work on your values, right now they look a little flat, with values from black to white on every single area of the characters. And welcome to ca!

mmm, markers, only thing on these is some of them look a bit flat, i think that may be because you have constant light over the entire character instead of using the lighting to make certain parts pop

    Great Feedback

This is very cool. It's great to feedback from other artists.

Kaya- Thanks for the crit, I agree, I do need to work on my values. I seem to be playing safe with the markers.

invinciblewombat- Thanks for the comment, you and Kaya seem to be seeing the same thing, the flatness of my renderings, something I am going to work on for my next set of drawings.

Grizzliman- Thanks for checking out my artwork. I still use Photoshop 6, and 6x8 wacom tablet (I really dig my tablet)

    Thanks again,
    Quinn

I like your designs. However, the one of the female and the one next to it seem kind of flat and actionless when compared to the rest of the pictures.

Niiiiice... I am trying to become a good creature designer, I am still working on improving my creativity and drawing / painting skills. I really love your half creature half machine theme you got going on, very impressive in terms of creativty, they look awesome... Would love to see more...

Have you started painting these yet? sure would love to see one thats painted. Dark red shiny metal look would look great on that one picture from your avatar...

    keep up the good work.

Smokedawg - thanks for the crit, I see what you mean.

regoob - thanks for the comments, haven't had allot of experience with painting and color, but I am going to work on that. Will hopefully have more to post soon.
