    Miad Wsg Kick Off Comp!

For those of you who don't attend MIAD, Im sure your wondering, "WTF is this!??"
Well, THIS is my attempt at building enthusiasm and hype at MIAD (Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design) over CA.org and concept art/illustration in general!
If those of you outside of the MIAD world would be so generous as to comment and watch the competition take place, then I would greatly appreciate it! Also stay tuned for the judging poll thread following this!

Lastly...THIS IS ONLY OPEN TO MIAD STUDENTS. Please be respectful and do not submit an entry if you are not a student here! Thanx!

    Thanks CA community!
    -MIAD WSG

And with that out of the way...

    MIAD WSG KICK OFF COMP!

    Official Rules:

This comp is going to be ran with a similar set of rules as any of the other "Of the Week" events on CA.org. With that said I would encourage HIGH quality work! Try not to embarass yourself with somthing that was whipped together in 10 minutes! Your posted rendition should be well thought out and professionaly represented!

    Think about:
    - many lovely details, which show a story - enviroment (although not required)
    - emotion
    - the atmosphere of the pic
    - dynamic, action
    - composition, colors, values etc

If you dont have time to make more than a rough sketch you can forget about entering. This can be in any medium as long as you can get a clean version of it posted on here!

    Prizes:

1st Place: $20 + 1 pound of Starbucks' Christmas Blend Coffee!
2nd Place: $10 + 1/2 pound of Starbucks' Christmas Blend Coffee!
3rd Place: $5 and a latte on me!

(Have you figured out I work at Starbucks yet? Heh..heh.....)

Rob I'm excited about this!! I know it doesn't really say much because I AM a little A.D.D. and I do get excited very easily, but I AM REALLY EXCITED. Because this topic could not have come at a better time, what with our SNOW DAY and all! *skips off to dream of sugarplum faeries*

Heh, fellow Starbucks "partner". I was thinking to myself, man I could just go partner markout those bags of coffee. I'm definitly interested in this, it makes me wander if I can get some people at SCAD to try the same thing.

Hey Sniper, MIAD alumni here (class of 03). Glad to see that you guys are interested in CA too. Is Noffsinger still teaching illustration there? Good luck with the comp.

Hrmmm....I sure hope some more selections come in. Unfortunately the comp labs at my school are farkin closed durring the winter break - and I was half way through my submission when they kicked me out on the last night they were open!

Obviously if nothing else comes in its a toss up. LaMorte at that point gets 1st place, and heck, Ill throw in the 2nd place worth of coffee. Might try this again in the future - maybe it was bad timing?

    Talking Keep the flame burning

Aww Sniper, I must keep my true identity secret-- it is an agreement I have made with the FBI 8) , while coffee and cash is a wonderful combination, the true reward is seeing someone beginning to stir up some spirit in the illustration area-- so thank YOU Sniper! Let the reward continue to grow in your care and let the game begin once again.

So what is the next theme?

    Carpe Noctem,

    LaMorte
