oalexis, thanks, they were def. fun to make
brunopicinini (now there's a name!), people are right when they say you need to build a visual library first. (which is why i ain't good with clothing ) you should buy a small sketchbook that you can carry with you everywhere, and a small mechanical pencil (no sharpener ). when you're out in town, and bored you can sketch the people around you,the way they sit,the way the act, etc. look at many different sketchbooks around this site, and see if you pick up tricks here and there. that's my favourite way of learning new things, just looking at as many pics as possible, and observing closely what you can learn from them, even if they're not top of the line. the more you know, the easier it will be to create something. me,f.ex.,i love studying the human body, the way everything connects, acts, and counteracts. it's an endless source of entertainment, and i'm not only talking bout drawing boobs . subconsiously i'm probably picking up alot more from other artists than i'm aware of,but knowingly picking up something really helps learn faster. (certain ways someone helps himself simplifying a hand,f.ex.)

    phew,ok,on to new sketches.
finally bought myself a small sketchbook to take around, lots of fun,and certain to impress when you know what you're doing ("emo" pic was done in full drunk-on mode )

aaand bought myself a new big sketchbook aswell (finally),with obligatory introduction page (and sketchbook count). tried to make this creature one of my most disgusting ones, and beside the obvious penor i fucked up the twist of his arm bad enough to make it painfully disturbing . trying to decide if i should render him further.

Yo!! watch those knees, you need to work on understanding
the skeleton more, some of the legs of your girls look slightly bone less,
draw some skeletons in different positions, and try adding more
straight lines on the drawings, rythms are constructed by
placing straight lines versus curved ones,
    http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...2&d=1169363722
see how Kevin Chen uses round forms next to square hard forms on the legs
thats what I think you are missing.

Ok that about it for now Pimp Daddy, KEEP WORKING!!!!
your getting better, just make sure you keep studying yer anatomy.

thanks for all the kind replies,i'm totally not used to praise
    artraid-i think i spent a good 2-3 hours on that ratman,but thanks,you're right
    gnoll-ahh yes,colour,my arch nemesis.
maxe-good to hear from you man, you're right i need to study my legs, although i hate to admit it

aight, time for pencils. didn't work to the best of my knowledge/skills this week,my little sister's been in hospital all week, returning today, and nobody's been able to tell yet what she's got. *bit anxious*

carrying around the minibook is getting more n more fun,you can observe how drunk you are by the quality of your sketches,if you're bored you can do stuff and your friends will be all over you drawing something

sister got back, aparently she just leads a bad lifestyle,(irregular meals and too little water during the day) which lead(s) to too low blood pressure, headache lasting two weeks and randomly passing out. let that be you a lesson kids.
    (i'm still glad she's back and it's nothing worse,afterall she's just 14... )

bleh photoshop doodle, kinda fun to make though.

hehehe never thought i could inspire anyone really, but thanks a lot, this made my day
'bout creatures, always make sure you check out real animals anatomy similar to what you are trying to design to make 'em look beliavable.
Only other suggestion i can give you is to try and spend more time with sketches.Lines are wobbly, insicure some times and it doesn't take long time to clean up.Keep in mind linewweight too.Make sure you poses are balanced not only in a 3d way but in a graphic way to, give them a balanced rythm.
Just my two cents, hope you don't mind

    keep sharing man

Nice SB you got here, you sure make some very fun critters! This is probably my favorite so far, disgusting, disturbing, as many "dis" as I can think of... totally cool!

    Keep at it!

Arrgghhh, damn you Carnifex! Now I've seen that demon penis I can't un-see it!!

You're doing very well with your monsters/characters designs. Guess the only suggestion I can make is to do more life drawings/color pieces (man, I need to more of those as well).

Hey Carneh, loving the creature in the top left. The one with the face full of teeth

See if you can develop that further, mabye it`s a pet? Somthing similar to a dog just a bit haywire? Does it have a master? What does he look like? How tough does one need to be to own one of those beasts? Or is it just a big softy?

    Some ideas for ya

Its always a surprise how well some "drunk" "stoned" or whatnot pictures come out ^^ Also they are often more "free" and we dare to make experiments =) Nice update , get some leg-references

    lookin' pretty good man.
Not yet slow n focused enought but it takes time.My main suggestion is try and look for reference to incorporate in your drawings, not in an explicit way...you can use a picture to reference lighting, pose, shapes n stuff...

    keep pushing man!

mmm...had a look at some kopinski's (warhammer) and just had to doodle.
    first pic i like today
had completely forgotten how easy and wonderful it is to draw male anatomy again, you can be so much more "blocky" instead of "curvy"
may even take this further, and it feels like ages since i've felt so the last time
now i just need to learn helmet design.

again, the awnser to your problems with the throne dude can be easily solved with the right reference

it can also help to keep the subjects varied.
And looks like we have the same problem with color...

    keep sharing!

would love to see more stuff as rendered out as the beak on the last one, the rest of your stuff leaves me feeling slightly cheated, as if they've not been done with love and care but quickly doublefast to get over with it already

yeah,i guess so gnoll...have decided to work on other stuff for the moment though
kinnas -damn you caught me,i tend to do that really as soon as i get unhappy with parts of the pic or have the feeling it's not worth doing it.
working on it though, lack of patience tends to screw me over.

wip 2 for the priest guy,i think i really like him...metal/gold pieces are really hard to render though...

hmmm...wents out cool...tho` i would have chosen something a tad lighter for his helmet...it looks extremely massive. And you should check your scanner...the real deal looks much better...ever tried to sharpen the images up after scanning ? But as i said = the body is really nice =)
