a sketch request from jeilfeire on fimchan to draw a grown-up twist. i decided to throw in scootaloo for fun.
as a total bonus for everyone i decided to stream this one, mostly for testing purposes. don't worry about missing much, i only had one friend watching me, and i was still SUPER NERVOUS at first; i'll be a wreck when i actually announce the next one earlier and more people come to watch (hopefully).
so anyway, the point IS...you can still watch the video on
    http://www.livestream.com/carnifexart
personally i'm super excited to have done this, as i now for the first time ever have a recording of my own process and a video of how i work! ^.^
i hope you have fun watching it!

I think I'm finding this to be one of the weirder SBs around - could you explain the whole pony thing? I know the meme is spreading as whole forums of EVE etc are infected, but I'm too out of it not to have seen much ~ Craft wise its all very nice again carnifex ~ and fun to have you back and posting again.

    david79 - that's a new reaction
dan liimatta - heh, considering some of the stuff around here that's pretty funny. but anyways, it's simple: my little pony: friendship is magic is an awesome cartoon that i can warmly recommend to anyone. it's refreshingly devoid of cynism, innocent, with interesting characters and neat storylines. for me, it's got this really nice vibe of early 90's cartoons (ducktales etc.), it reminds me of my childhood and simply makes me happy.
if you want, you can watch all the episodes on youtube (starting here). it's also by the same guys that have created "powerpuff girls" and "foster's home for fantasy friends."
pigeonkill - very environment friendly, no?
    jesus food - muahaha, success!

so, i had a very nice holiday, very relaxed, although the weather didn't quite play the part we liked it to. i actually tried to take a break from ponies (having no computer helped) but i can't stay off those adorable characters for long. feels nice to be back, fresh view on things and all that . can't wait to work with my tablet again

heh, I was mostly wondering why since people seems to be so taken with it for darkpurposes - a bit like some old death and destruction that came with the sunshinebears - just even more and like here even furthered focused on sex ~ don't mind, just boggles the mind a bit ~

& and you so neatly broke the forums ~ & a nice update esp. given the variety in this one.

dan - thanks! you don't wanna know just HOW much the ponies can and have been "sexified". i can't say why, but for some reason it's fun to explore the "naughtier" sides of the characters, since the show is strictly family-friendly anways. male urges, driven to multiply by the internet, perhaps?
rule34 älskar att fucka med sont, som du vet. det är lättare att go dit om non annan ritat värre saker redan. inte för att det gör det bättre

toyed around with some ideas for this week's chow but lost interest. there's too many variations i could go with and it feels too late in the game.

dan - nah, don't feel like it, sorry. i'm currently more into mood pictures than concept work.

sketch for a new pic, small doodle from DA's muro program, and the finished gift art for mn27 on deviantart.

the beginning of the Elements of Discord series. chronologically comes before all the drama we've already seen so far of course.

i'm actually trying to give them some motivation beyond "we like doing this because we're evil", but it's REALLY hard to come up with something. i can't decide whether the elements of discord are actually proud of being the elements of discord, too. imagine you're being told you're the embodiment of lying. huh...

i want to make like 2 or 3 pages more that deal with the "why" before shit happens, but after that i'll be going onto what happens AFTER the "attacks".
a little note too, apparently there exists a fanfiction of the same name, but i'm making up all these pages and characters on my own. they're not related and i have infact not read said fanfiction. it all started with a theory discussion thread on ponychan.

edit: argh, upload manager refuses to uload the image. i can only link again:

& do destroy the object of harmony and initiate chaos and destruction upon all ~ going to be fun to see you work through the comic.

So many ponies, i dont know what to do~! I love the little cycloptic one the best. Those colored pencil pages from your vacation are slick, and i dig the quick concepts for the last chow. Its good to see more "standard" figures sneaking in, but dont forget your true passion for ponies! heheh.

    Keep it up amigo!

~ given that I painted this & this today I have to say that I find it weird that I feel weird out by your content - as always ~ That said I really like the lines and the dynamism in several of the pieces and the last is also nice painting wise.

dan - cheers! it's probably because of the subtle and not-so-subtle sexualization of these cartoon characters.
    ladyknowles - thank you!

scootaloo, stream art, random stuff, my "ponysona" (with inital horrible coloursheme too), random stuff and two more comics that are too big for the attachment manager:

probably - & The linework you work with them seem to translate really well as you do pieces like the 2nd to last.

your SB always makes me smile, Carnifex. The cartoon characters with their "everyday" sides shown and all the naughtiness rolled into one sweet package. Then again there are the darker sides. And your lines are really nice. I love the cartoon work. I´d never consider myself one for my "little pony" but now I am tempted. Also I´d probably be disappointed thou. nothing of your naughtiness I guess. Thanks for stopping by and commenting btw. Cheers, Wolf

    cheers dan!
bbwolf - thanks! well, the refreshing thing with the new mlp is that it actually IS completely naughty-free, aswell as lacking cynism and forced adult humor. it well-rounded, intelligent and above all FUN family entertainment. i would liken it to say, ducktales, or gummybears.

lesse, what did i draw...anthropomorphizations (bit uncanny maybe), two comic pages again, and some random stuff...
