cheers man, thanks that really warms my heart. hope you stop by more often.

aaand there we go. outside of the meme the "normal" pollinara colours don't fit, so it's the negaverse version.
gaaaawd it's far too late again. i'm a master at time managment.

    whoa, comments! w00t!

    nggupenk - thanks!
ryanoir - cheers man! i wanna play around abit more with the designs before i move into colours. i can't get mario quite the way i like.
    spiralpen - thank you!

and now for something completely different: a little perspective practice.
it's not quite there because my perspective help lines are wobbly as shit, but i don't hate it. so yeah, uhm, anything you notice, shout out.

Carni, you got some fun work going!!! @_@ Ha ha! Love that meme you did, and the flow of lines.

The perspective pic is good, although that person in the distance looks WAAAY in the distance! I find it tough to put folks in perspective, and you did a great job at it!

    jazz - thanks!
camara - thank you very much! that means quite something, coming from you.

just a small doodle, still haven't had access to my scanner, and i'm quite hungover today
quite like the look of this (humanized) character (from the previous meme). i don't suppose anybody knows what she is called? (don't think it's ever said)
edit: hrm, servers seem to be down, i'm getting red x's for all attached images. if you don't see anything as well, you can look here.

    parya - thank you!

okay, finally got around to scanning!
    some notes/rambling:
i also included pictures that i don't consider very good, mainly the first three pages - a) because i still like some of the ideas behind those pics and b) to show that everybody suffers from "bad days" now and then.
the pics with cthulhu and that marker portrait were created during a very nice sketchmeet in vienna. the marker portrait was painted directly, to test rendering mainly; without pencil guidelines, which is why it's so wonky. the one to the right is the back of the page, i thought it looked nifty.
i quite like the pictures that were created the following day. that's lizardboy there.
and finally, the very last page (red riding hood, if you can read it) was created while on the bus, which is why it's so wobbly.

fun with genderswapping. toying with the idea of a "genderverse" where everyone's gender is switched around. i want to preserve the "uglyness" of the characters but still make it different and believeable.
so that's pollinaro and regina bushroot. still playing around with his faceshape.

been feeling quite downcast for most of today
i had a wonderful dream where i was some king and had the cutest (short-blonde-haired) queen at my side. we were just laying around cuddling in our bedroom. then we went up a big tower to watch the stars and snuggle some more.
then of course i had to wake up. i felt devastatingly alone.
also, i've been very frustrated with trying to make those "genderverse" character variations i talked about in the last post.
hope your sunday's going better. me, i could use a hug.

Hey buddy! It's been a few pages since i dropped a proper comment in here, my apologies. You've been keeping nice and busy it seems, it's been cool to see your darkwing duck oc's develop over these pages, though some of the ones that are a bit more sexual are confusing my inner child, haha! Great stuff though, you really capture a lot of character with every drawing you do. The steampunk venus sketches were really cool, and i like the re-vist of one a few posts later. Youre looking really confident in your female characters, you capture a lot of small nuances that make them credible. I'd like to see more perspective work like the one on the top of this page as well.

No real crits at the moment, i hope you take this latest post a bit further, its got potential to be very beautiful with all the greenery and rolling wood. Keep it up sir, can't wait for more!

a la bapsi, camara - thanks a lot!
austenfm - cheers, thank you so much! glad you stopped by!

    poooooooonies
so yeah, like i said, i'm hooked.
i can't really explain it, it's just so gosh-darn CUTE! besides being totally entertaining, beautiful to watch and almost "old-school" in it's stories and action. (i mean, pianos falling onto people, actual morals and jokes that sometimes only adults will get? awesome!)
since i can't pick a favourite (really, i can't), i just drew random ponies, mostly to get a feel for the art style. it's deceptively simple. the thing i have most trouble with is drawing a circle instead of an ellipse as head-starting-point
my advice? watch it, feel it, love it.
    it's like a sugar rush.

after accidentaly stumbling upon a mlp "fanfic" that was downright horrifying, i had to draw something to cheer myself up today.
i like this "pairing". it's probably because i'm a hopeless romantic and i, too, frequently end up falling in love with women i have no chance of ever getting.
    ...
so yeah, if you don't know who these are by now, i strongly suggest watching my little pony: friendship is magic right now. it's awesome.
    example you say?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csPPqdbcVwM

    and good night to all.
p.s.: i'll never ever read mlp fanfic again, ever.
    curse you, internet.

Great characters! I always suck at creating facial structures I can repeatedly draw in different view points, but you nail it! Bouncy lines as well :]

"A drawing is not necessarily academic because it is thorough, but only because it is dead. Neither is a drawing necessarily academic because it is done in what is called a conventional style, any more than it is good because it is done in an unconventional style. The test is whether it has life and conveys genuine feeling."- Harold Speed

your stuff allways cracks me up. Looks like you have tons of fun with it. I allways get the feeling I watch the next Eric Schwartz emerging. Maybe just a lot more twisted.

A tutor once said to me: "Let your mind go!" and it didn´t come back.

pariano - thanks! it's kinda easier with cartoon characters, since you can usually exagerrate features and thus keep an easier track of them.
bbwolf - cheers! hadn't heard about that guy before. funny comparison, especially the "more twisted" part care to give an example?

    finally finished this one.
i'm not sure i'm 100% happy with it, but i don't feel like working on it anymore. haven't slept properly the last few days for whatever reason.
unfortunately the actual weather around here has been dull and grey lately, so i couldn't look outside and actually feel the warm sun, which is why i feel like that final "oomph" is missing.
    oh well.
plus a colour-swapped version without shading that i thought would fit quite well as a festival poster or something.

I've long since wanted to draw a picture with Pintail in it (because she's really cute) AND pay tribute to one of my most favourite artists: Allesandro Barbucci.
So while browsing his blog today, I found this picture and I liked it so much I decided to use it as a base for the below fanart.
Truthfully, I've never read "Lord of Burger", but I've been a "Skydoll" fan since I first got hold of it.
Presented as a "faux-cover" with Darkwing Duck Logo and Barcode taken from Issue Nr. 8 of the new Darkwing comics.
It was a REAL blast to work on this; and you know my favourite part? Steelbeaks ridiculously pointy dress-shoes
I intentionally left out the ground shadow to keep it a bit more "abstract".

So here's to you, Mr.Barbucci, and all the fans of both Skydoll, Darkwing Duck and FrothingLizard!

Pintail De La Garza belongs to FrothingLizard
    Steelbeak belongs to Disney.
