    thanks mike and fetsch.

ionic's sketchbook inspired me to render a bit further on the chow pic, but i won't continue beyond this point (atleast for now).
instead i'm trying my hand at cghub's creature planet challenge. the topic is "six-legged almost-blind omnivorous cave scavenger". (actually called different, but it's my personal summary)
can't get naked mole rats out of my head.

had an epiphany while on the bus, and decided to change the legs.
he now uses them to steady himself when crawling through vertical tunnels.
(because the description said that the second pair of legs appears completely useless, and this way, it does, while actually remaining a function)

ladyknowles - thank you! feel free to pop in more often. (that goes for everyone here)
catish - i guess you mean me more often using the cartoon style instead of aiming for realism. don't know...it just clicked with me some day.

donalfall - cheers! it's very hit and miss at times. my biggest trouble is with speech bubbles since i have to put them onto the page right away instead of adding them later.

this here,f.ex. is more of a miss. and some doodles underneath.
edit: oh yeah, and a small cartoon illo featuring canti550's character nick. although she manages to make her far more adorable than me.

was in the mood to create something totally sexy and steamy and hot today, but in order to not get myself and this picture banned, i "censored" it by putting on some clothes. (on deviantart; i've still got the nude version, if anyone's interested)
the guy is pollinara's boyfriend/husband before her transformation. he usually plays action blockbuster roles, but is a nice guy. before he could play with pollinara in her big breaktrough movie, it got cancelled, which led to the events that would end in her transformation. she doesn't pursue revenge on him though, as she already threw him out of their villa during her rage.
have yet to find a name for him, any suggestions?

ryanoir - haha, dude that's abit too much

anyways, people who are watching, i'm all about the communication. so if you're looking, don't just walk away again, but leave me some feedback. what do you like, what don't you like, what's interesting, what could i do better? i like talking, and by all means, do return i answer questions etc. in this thread.
    see you.

not much of an update, i'm afraid. i'm kinda burnt out currently, plus i have a cold, which also blocks my right ear, and i can't drink alcohol because i have to take antibiotics.

"you coming?" - "yeah, yeah, just a minute. let me just finish this picture."

hahaha, this was way too much fun.
i haven't really been in the mood for drawing since i've caught a nasty cold and my ears are totally blocked, which drives me insane. BUT after forcing myself to get as far as putting in the colours, it actually became really fun to paint this picture. it's of course inspired by the film "who framed roger rabbit?". the only bad thing about it is that i had to use my crappy webcam, but maybe i'll do another one with a proper cam at some point.
i can recommend everybody to try this at some point, integrating a drawing into a photo, because you really have to think about where the light's coming from and how you're gonna integrate the figure, which in my opinion is a very fun challenge.

carnifex!! hmm after browsing your first few pages-- i've noticed a huge departure in style with these recent updates it's good you're experimenting and i think it's helping you grow more as an artist. really love the flat colors in post #1283

#1280 made me crack i don't think you'll get 'banned' for drawing something sexy/steamy haha~ but really, keep this up! i'm curious though what your main focus is (are you going for something in animation or cartoons?) i don't think it matters but it's nice that you have this illustrative side and of course these silly characters ^^

    can't wait for more buddy!

donalfall - glad it works as intended, then.
teapo - that's my problem, i have absolutely no clue what to do with my stuff, money-making wise. i think illustration'd probably be the most logical choice, but the whole freelancing thing scares me. animation i don't think i have the patience for.

happy valentine's day from nega-pollinara, hope you have somebody to celebrate it with.
    i don't

    Always think about:
    lighting! design! perspective! proportion!
    And (self)motivation is still everything.

Your photo with that beautiful babe reminded me immediately on Bugs Bunny movie.
Nicely drawn and colored! You don't have to do freelancing fulltime at start. Do some
illustrations, make your internet site, look for opportunities, maybe also on Guru.com ...
You'll find your way sooner or later ...
