Hey there, how did the job search go? I see you have been a lot more productive than myself lol. I really like that hatched look you do sometimes over your basic forms in photoshop (saw that awhile back with this image of a goat creature peeing in its mouth). It kind of distracts from the look of a photoshop piece and it seems to create a vibrating/glow look.

Liking that new weird creature piece!

"Isn't that the normal effect I use?" - Yeah I guess but I think those studies had more extreme aspects of that style which I suppose can be used for cool effects in paintings.

    Ludic
It was a daily sketchpiece - not too fast ~

    Loathsome
Perhaps - yeah I do vary my style from time to time and sometimes I should bring stylies like these to other pieces.

    bpic
Hey, not actually applied yet - doing portfolio pieces (and being too picky) -
& thanks - and I did lots of small strokes on that one - Thanks & just going off the normal process people use - it was fun but also tiresome

    strangedawn
Thanks - and yes I spent more time on the hovel than the creature ~ & thanks

    Deadlyhazard
It works well for me - not sure if I love to do it, but once called for it kind of flows easier than most (it was kind of called for in this topic). & thanks.

    Sickbrush
Thanks - and I'll be around (was just away during the weekend+ a bit).

Just the latest DGS - been doing some other stuff but nothing special and nothing really to show.

Pretty so so - but was doing it between other things (don't like the composition and a few other things)

Heh, tackar & I only use very basic brushes nowadays, for work I often did new brushes per project but I kind of like paiting differently (with base brushes) when doing personal pieces (wasn't the case some years back).

WIP really, but needed to abandon it for today anyway (really don't like the hands or the mask and some other shading failures.

Sweet design on that mech man!

It may just be me, but it seems like on the leg closest to us, the fembot's left thigh area [Vastus lateralis muscle] is disproportionately thinner than her right in that perspective.
Digging that color choice though man.

    Especially on the bioluminescent creature!

Can't wait to see the next batch!

    Nice work as always, man!
I love the cartoony feel in your works, as others have said: it shows cheerfulness in your designs. Even in the horrific stuff you also obviously enjoy making

I've had some slow weeks too - I needz me more discipline!

MBK I agree - esp that there is issues with the legs in general (an area I really need to improve in general) but I was also lazy with the placement of the "plates" & Thanks

    Harmageddon
I do love painting yes, esp. things I put out, or when it goes bad I normally get too weighted down by it and go away, but even if the rest of my life is falling to pieces as long as I enjoy painting I think it shows in the line. (So I don't do terribly dreadful emotional work, and most of my character smile as I do when I paint).

    Ros1
Thanks, and yeah somehow creatures are giving me less issues than most other areas as of late

    rumpenstiltzkin
Tackar - försöker få till en trevlig mecha design, men inte riktigt nöjd än - kanske gör lite mer som du verkar göra när du återkommer till samma karaktärer (något jag sällan gjort).

So a few WIP pieces and the DSG.

Was planning to do the ChoW - dunno now as I've been down and out for the last two days and I should be doing something else today.
But here is a current WIP - dislike the legs and some other things concerning the posture/anatomy - but would also need to improve on the gear and other things, also had a back view planned but ~ alas probably don't have the time to complete it before the deadline.

Doesn't feel complete, still want to improve on the head and the feet, but also other areas - the skin feels bad in some regards, as in too overlay like yellow/burnt - got this bad colour/light in some areas that I want to fix up but ~ got a splitting headache so maybe later.
    Name: dsgfurry2.jpg
Views: 2394
Size: 255.5 KB
Small update as I didn't like the skin at all - less texture but a bit better ~

Improvements on a character from 2 pages back or so, fixing anatomy issues mostly, still WIP.

As with the ChoW - still WIP and I don't like the legs or some designs but figured that I should post it as I think I've abandoned it.

Did one with latex/wet-suit like clothing as I often try to hide my poor anatomy through puffy clothing, for the training it was it turned out decently - might finish it off as its still very WIP.

Digging the new creatures and character designs.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this:

And her anatomy is looking fairly balanced/natural at this point.

Your DSG's are always so awesome I could cry (the android, alien... just wow) Wish I could design even half as good as you some day.

I couldn't come up with any crits so it's just ass pats from me. Keep rocking, buddy.

Thanks man, and you'll have to blame William for the poor alien as he picks the topic in the DSG

    Loathsome
Thanks, should finish it or at least continue with them later so I hope to be able to give you that (and myself).

    Thanks o/

Decided to add one more image to the current DSG as the topic for some reason (despite the nice subject) is so slow.

Two quick characters to sharpen my anatomy and designs etc. Both very WIP and I hope to finish them later, at least the girl once I sort the face and the rest more or less, but kind of like the trench coat.

Update on the late ChoW (didn't make the deadline obviously) - and still WIP, planned, and so still plan, to do a back view as well.

Those shaved things are so funny! Love your colours man. I need to get into the colour earlier on in my process, mine are too muddy and blurry...

*and here is my rewritten post after the infamous Backspace incident*

i finally have some time to write now, meeting's done, concepts in the water and awaiting replies.

i don't know if i've mentioned it before but i like your very clean and pristine style. It's any A.D.'s dream, working with concepts like these, not to mention a modeller.

not too much critique to do really, i enjoy most of these, i can see the fun in them, the relaxation, some are a bit more serious, others are just having fun. by the way, that hunchback dude you did as warm up is not ugly at all, it looks really great and loose, relaxed and smooth. I deeply envy your line and brushstroke control.

Your images put out the vibe of "hey i know exactly what i'm doing here". that is healthy and good for you as the initial impact of a Liimatta [hahaha sounds like i'm 60, you're dead and i'm describing your work]. As i was saying, the initial impact of a Liimatta is control.

For the latest CHOW, umm i can't put my hands on anything really. I like how it turned out and whatever things that bug me are really too small to comment on.

Also, i personally believe that the bird sitting on the first unshaved beast is absolutely jaw dropping. yup you heard me, the bird. it's perfect.

so..all in all, since i'm more on the atmosphere side of things, often times at the cost of clarity, i must ask, wouldn't you sometimes want to try having fun with some heavy atmosphere on these?

that's all from me for now Dan, see you around man!
