    .16/05.2012.Papal.Robots.&.Unicorns.

    Random dumps.

go to the end ~ for the latest of my failures!

1-9 is my first two years posting in the SB, some good, some horrible - mostly so so.
10-14 is my third year post work before I started to freelance with textures.
    15-18+ are current.

Vulgar` I'll look into it, for I agree - as I really need to polish more on my pieces ~ so I'll do some monster/creature studies tomorrow as a warm up.

dinodog_Jr thanks! I use a palette knife - a narrow brush with angle jitter and roundness jitter tied to pen tilt - I have some variations of said brush ~ if you are interested I can upload them.

Blaz my biggest gripe have been the beautyfull people - on top of that list women ~ anyway hopefully practice does make perfect & thanks.

    Call0ps warming, thanks mate

Dan, thx if u wouldn't mind to email me the brush pattern u r using.
    dinoyueh@yahoo.com

Actually, i dun feel much to comment bout the quick sketch u got here.
U r really fast & the form is great, the color & value is so beautiful and nicely done.

Perhaps u are not dat quite expert in imaging a proper anatomy character design. (me even worse...still studying man~~) I found a few of ur character design in Head connected to Neck to shoulder doesn't works pretty good.

Unnatural riding pose as the Biker. A motor rider arms should be a little bend. Imaging ur arm will be very tired to straighten them to ride motorhead and it doesn't allow us to make cornering smoothly. The back seat steel is off.

The net-shirt guys neck seems pro to me. the head seems a little smaller compare to his big size body. Chest + Body seems a little too long than usual.

Actually, i dun think u need comment on tos characters. You are just trying to paint something else to improve something on ur own.

Majority reference people u painted are amazing cool. I am digging tos guys holding guns..hee..

    Latest Art:
I love the latest train sketches. I always feel afraid to draw complex machinery Train. I would like to try it after see some of urs as motivation.

The Human sized bettle design is fantastic. I love the engine built into its tummy. hee..i felt its head cannot look down anymore. The spinning Fan blade will break its own beak accidently.

30mins Thai landscape is top-notch speed painting! The speed adds the Feel is completely stand out! LOVE IT!. U gotta teach me how to paint like this ~!

As for the latest naked lady. Dat's gorgeous as usual~!

Hope i am not making u upset of my silly comments..

Man illimitata, really sweet sb youve got going on here. :1 Some really cool work, dig the sketchy but controlled style you have going on here. The DSG process for the metal man was really interesting, the process of a clean sketch, dirtying up and cleaning it up again is a neat approach to take (gotta try that). Really nice variety in general, had fun looking at your stuff. Cant wait to see more.

bhanu Well the gap from my first post to the 2nd was pretty huge; so that explains why it took some time to drop by your SB ~ Anyway thanks, and I'll strive to improve then

    Sirio_Brozzi
Thanks & I often try various methods and with the metal man it worked pretty well

    dinodog_Jr
Yeah, I really lack anatomy, thus all the studies on the subject

As for the golden haired man, well he was supposed to be really tall, but I probably made the head a bit too small

The landscape is pretty easy, as it's backlit - and I had a good photo reference and suited brushes - but it's good practice.

& feel free to crit me, it helps; so I'll look into the head issue, and for example I agree with you on the biker - but I think it just happend in the 10 minutes I drew him, but it's often have the same problem in other sketches. As for the brushes, they are coming tomorrow as I need to get some sleep (going to be up in 5 hours) - hold tight!

highly productive / prolific set of images that really shocked me. gonna second the 5 star rating of mentlers.

one suggestion i thought of near the top of this page was that you could try to do more natural light studies just to get a better feel to your comps... then scrolling down you started doing some so i had to give you mad props for noticing the issue and working towards resolving. The natural light + graphic style paintings are a highly powerful combination, i'm loving what i'm seeing here. you're painting fast, mang, it's damn impressive!

Continue to expirement and knock us right on our asses, ok?

As for experimentation; I grew stale during the last year and are now forcing myself to make changes to my process every other day or so & I'm pretty happy with the result in growth so yeah - I'll try to keep it up. & and a better understanding light is pretty high up on the list of things to learn.

    auden100
Thanks, I do try for once in the past, I didn't; and I really lacked in the fields of anatomy, landscapes and technical drawing - for doodling surreal monsters was a lot more fun, mostly due to that I didn't know how to draw anything lifelike oh well one learns with time.

the noise in the SB forum is such that you miss 99%, so that you came past is just a bonus - anyway as for colours I do studies on others pieces, among them colour studies, and I do the landscapes etc. as much for the the study of light as for the subject matter at hand. That said I pretty much sucked at colours 9 months ago, and I hadn't come that far before winter ~ so what did it for me was mostly the studies in here and some prior. That said it's pretty hard to give you any specifics, besides that I'll always change colours all the time, I'll mix, and tweak, especially for nature drawings that more or less nothing have the exact same colour.

So I'll usually have the colour window open in PS, use the colour picker constantly and spray the sketches (when I have usually only used a few colours) with various dirt brushes that have the brush> colour variation setting active to get a larger spectrum.

Usually, today I mostly just used a few selected colours, dunno thought :/

Besides that it's just good old practice here

    Anyway thanks!
