wow glad to see how well its been received certainly is encouraging. I had trouble hosting the original dimensions, so i chopped a few versions down into convenient desktop sizes (if you feel so inclined, feel free to nab it) - see first post for links.

j a k e: im thinking ill do a series of similar illo's, so keep your eyes peeled

Looks really great, mate! Now do 50 pieces in the same style, hehe (maybe even a few panels).

    Thumbs up

I love well this dimension very personnel and energetic in your work, the
black white equilibrium is horizontal but that works visually.

    Vrays: cheers mate, i think..?

Arne S. and flip the master: too hard to make out? eh.. that was sort of the idea behind it all. i didnt want the scene or setting to make sense as much as i wanted it to keep people guessing. the way i see it is that you should be able to make out 2 figures and a lot of explosive shapes, no real setting. hense the chaos. its ambiguous, yet distinct in some places. ill take it on board next time and add a little more control to the chaos. thanks

I like it, but they look like brush templates to me. With Photoshop, you can just download those brushes and click click click it's done. No offense, that's just how I felt when I first saw it. If this were a painting or a hand-drawn ink drawing, then I may feel different, but stuff like this that's made digitally doesn't seem to impress me as much, especially nowadays when everyone has Photoshop and graphic design like this is starting to be more common sense to everyone. I'd say take it 10 notches up, take this style and advance somewhere where no one's gone before. Good luck.

This is sweet stuff, stophman! The flavor of these are very fitting to the site, and are unique in the experimentation. I would love to see you push the design elements a bit more and possibly work with more shapes.

Sleep_Eden_sleep: GAH i am undone! haha yeah, i see your point.. yes, the brushes (m@'s brushes) are a bit of a shortcut, and admittedly are becoming cliche. i used them initially just to get the ideas down and experiment, but i do intend to create my own brushes and textures in the coming weeks to better develop and hone this style and step away from the crowd. thanks for the honest crit

blog, hogworth, digitalkarma, stalsby, voraz: cheers, very much appreciated

Mr. Visions: as always mate, its a pleasure to have your input on my work. as i said with Eden, i will endeavour to create new brushes and that should diversify the shapes and such of subsequent works. ill also push the design elements more. thanks again!

    --------------

okay, so it may seem like im flogging a dead horse here, but ive been thinking about different elements i can add to future pieces, along with different textures and ideas to incorperate. here i had the end of a piece of slide-negative that was over-exposed. looking closely it had some nice colour gradients and some nifty textures too. i scanned it in and did some overlay layers just quickly. still very much experimenting here. i suppose the purpose of this is to test the possibilities and further my search for a distinguishable style that will set me apart from others in the industry. thanks for your patience. moving house today, so the next update may be a while coming (no internet)
