    Thumbs down Mutant Kitties!!

this is a five foot long painting..that has to be be finished by the 30th.... I am out of my mind.....!!!!

Its in its very early stages and I will be updating often so that this very brilliant community can spot problems early on! My teacher has already told me I need to fix the cat on the far left, shes off perspective. Shes also suggested that I have all my cats rolling around or being more active like the two on the right hand side. But otherwise, how do my two right hand kitties look so far? Its only the first layer of paint, do you think these colors and the shadows are ok?

I''ve gotta admit...I'm having a hard time reading the faces...you've pushed the light values nicely...perhaps some dark values to help moedl the form? The pink one has three eyes?

the upper right kitty looks good but I worry about its tail.

I agreew with your teacher...the other cats look like they are alot lower than the horizon line while the one on the left is closer to it. just slide the rear portion of the cat downwards to fix this.

Hahahahaha! Too funny! Keep going! I look forward to seeing this one finished!

Yeah, darker shadows in the cats will help them to not be flat.

I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. Yep, adding shadows will help a lot.

Also, make sure you make the subject of this painting is clear whitout having to read the title because you want your cats to look like they are mutated, not like they're painted badly. At the moment it is very hard to see the real shape of the cats. Again, shadows will solve this

    thanks for the replies!

well..everything sorta went down hill after mr. pinky.....but I had to finish it by tonight so I went for..less of a painting! this is what I get to show off as a graduate student..meh! the yellow cat is so uuuuuggggglyy. the blue cat is toooo blue, he was supposed to be greyish. and I like my darkest cat to the far left, but he was a rush job and I forgot to give him a nose....... and the yellow cat is supposed to have patches of fur but it looks like a shaved monkey!

im not sure about the over all color scheme or the background anymore either. I was going for something more baroque, really messed up huh? please help! im looking for color scheme help and how I can fix the yellow cat especially

dude im loving the painting regardless. i gotta admit that the yellow cat looks like a cross between ET and a homeless guy smoking a joint. but i like it! all i can think to say would be make it more 3d with lighting and shading, like the 3 eyed cat. its belly is spot on when it comes to lighting and shading. but the lighting on the others makes it all look a little flat. if u got this way by not knowing what u were doing, then keep doing things you dont know how to do as its looking alot better. if that makes any sense? im gonna sit down for a while...
