hey man sorry for not commenting here in aaaaaaages, been really busy recently...

anyways i agree with bluefruitbowl about the position of homer's body. also, i would like to say that i can see and always have believed, that you are someone who is motivated and full of creativity. but i still would like to tell you to slow down a bit...make definite confident lines that mean something to the piece as a whole and not just confident fast lines that are there. what im trying to say that is let your mind guide the hand more, not the other way around.

basically....i suggesting that you balance out the amount of studies and experimentation , Use the knowledge from the studies in your experimental works and i'm sure you'd improve more. trying out different mediums is great, but its always better with a solid footing on the foundations of anatomy, perspective, colour theory etc etc...

anyways thats my big rant, sorry if i came out as being harsh...I'm really looking forward to the fruitions of your art journey so keep working hard man...supporting you all the way

I'll second the advice for you to slow down a bit Doesn't mean you have to take it slow all the time but at times such as when doing studies.

http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1175540528 yaaaaaaaaaaay charcoal! I really like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...6&d=1175767094 . http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1175540548 looks distorted because the face profile and the eyes look turned, but the mouth and nose don't. Try putting in some face guidelines every now and then?
I have been drawing. Just not updating. :]

    Wow,weird beautiful things!
It's abstract and I have no complaints about that...
But some are engaging, some are not...
But all serves a purpose in your studies.

    Thanks for hounding me :]
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175815064 awesome study. Nice brush handling.
Nice colors in the two ones after that I prefer http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175815107 because motion blurs are kinda... ehh. you know? Lovely color palette. Actually, your colors have gotten lots better in general. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1175978605 The chisel/angled brush is kind of distracting, I think. Colors really jive though.

you have your serious face on in this
its funny, with pencil you push around the graphite likes its nobody's sister, yknow, loose n'all
but with charcaol you seem to take your time more, when it should be the opposite
I would go for stronger blacks, sometimes exaggerating them around the eye socket.
    cool beans

Pff, you are clearly getting old, you old fogey, you. That pen study is darling, nice hatching. The guys hat looks a bit distorted. I'm not really sure why. I really like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176152769 the right arm/hand. Whoohoo for. umm. pie.
Basically this comment is kind of useless, I think.

    whoa!

ok, saw the old inked guy, and its like whoa! so from now on im expecting really really good things from you. you can do it well, now you gotta do it more consistently, k? one thing on faces, it might help to draw a very light straight line across the front plane of the face to line up the eyes, cause sometimes your eyes are misaligned with the face. hope it helps, peace m.

i didnt really intend to scan the hand pages, i learnt a lot from them but they're not supposed to be pretty or anything. lots of random digi shit too

pretty much a big ugly dump! i work incredibly disorganised

    i borrowed hpx's branding thang...heh

Quite like http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176493674 because the colors are so electric. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176493852 has really clean lines, your penwork's lovely. Liking the studies lots, they're really giving a sense of movement to your other stuff. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647293 nice colors, but use a bigger brush? http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647320 WHOOHOO! HANDS! Which makes me think, those hands look really nice because it seemed like you really knew where your lines were going. Try doing that in your non-studies, being economical with you lines like this http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176647276 has a lot of stray lines.
