    OMG it's a creature!

Donald - I'm using Chrome too, started getting the same msg couple of days ago, my antivirus and other 3 browsers say it's all right, so I guess it's all right. If I find the time I might attach the old images properly, so the SB doesn't point to this server.

conte, Wr00m, Nick Cato, Mawh - thanks a lot!

Holland - Thank you, I wish it was simple

Texahol - and your're blog makes me draw creatures when I have other plans and I totally do not intend to!
Here's the sketch, for a challenge on .

There are some issues like missing legs and such, which might be fixed in my final entry.

    Photo OP Vehicles

Here are some of my vehicle experiments, overpainted on top of random photos. It's just a quick test to see to what extent this approach helps with speed. It could actual be quite fun and relaxing exercise, saving you some work and thinking about materials, colour, light, composition and perspective, as well as giving you some good hints about what set of details and surface variation a realistic design needs. It's pure fun with shapes and design.

I had plans to finish them before posting, but ages have passed since then, so I decided to just dump them here for now.

That's an unusual creature. I wonder how its walkcycle looks like.
Cool paintovers ! The last one is a perfect mix between contemporary and SF ! Very "Dark angel", or Blade Runner.

This is such an awesome idea Calader. im doing alot of design based stuff and this somes like such a great idea for pullling out interesting shapes and designs with all the nitty bits already worked out.
Youve done them really well to. The last car as an awesome retro-futuristic approach with a 90s vibe.

    Attack Of The Saints

Mawh - too bad I didn't finish it on time. And the last on is based on an old Opel Corsa mk1 and it still shows, in the overall proportions and feel.

    Verehin - thx!

PHATandy - Thanks, Opel Corsa, first generation it was, before being scribbled on

Attack Of The Saints - some messy randomness under the influence of Thom Scholes amazing work.

    Procession

Thank you all for the kind words, here's more.
This something based on an really old thumbnail, I kind of liked the idea and at some point I thought it could have used more polish but I dragged it for too long as I usually do and trying hard not to, so here it is in all it sketchy messy glory, I went overboard with the chalky noisy brushes, will balance textures/grain distribution better next time.

Btw, I have the feeling the images I'm posting lately are a bit too large, if there're any complains let me know.

No way man. Image sizes are perfect, IMO youve got room to go a bit bigger for really detailed pictures. At these kind of sizes you dont lose all the brush strokes and texture in them which is really nice.
I think the last couple of environs could do with a touch more black into some of the saturated darks. I think it might make things pop out a little bit more. Like the foreground in this feels a litte flat, because all your shadows are still kinda bright.
Great work though Calader, Keep it up!

The Apache is all ready a awe inspiring sight to see when it cuts the sky above your head and engages a target but my got that Apache mod, that is epic! I'd love to see that thunder over head! A normal Apache is called a 'Ugly call sign' your one would just be 'hideous' but so beautiful.

Cool ! I love the way you place multiple light sources in your scenes, this always gives a warm feeling. Most often I'd like to actually "be" in your paintings !

Love the way your stuff looks. Can't put my finger on whether its the palette or just your shapes but man it makes me swoooooon.

Really like seeing your process stuff. The contrast thumbs were interesting to look through, hopefully you can post more stuff like that? I'd like to see how you start enviros so hope you can post more just random sketches etc.

Whatever happen to your RTS? (i think it was rts stuff)
