    Stanley Meltzoff's Passing

Very Sad news...Stanley Meltzoff has passed away. He is one of the _true_ greats.

I'll post something on my blog tonight but, in the mean time, you should read this lovely tribute on Illustration Art. http://illustrationart.blogspot.com/...artist_09.html

I'm ashamed to say I've never seen his artwork before. Thanks for posting this...

    Hey Cody,

He only did a few science fiction paintings but they were hugely influential. All of his paintings, whether SF or not, are great. For a real treat, check out: http://www.stanleymeltzoff.com/

I've seen his artwork many times before and it saddens me to hear of his departure. I hope he rests in peace and his family is at ease.

His underwater paintings are outstanding. Unmatched, I would suggest.

thats fucking crazy.... How do u not become a successfull painter with having something like that in your back pocket.. its amazing... his color and richness is jaw dropping... that would def. be one intereting class if he ever taught one... crazy... Wait a second... those are paintings the ones of the water just the water...? He had five of them... thats crazier...
