Hi Folks, I've recently changed my style of artwork from:
The glass house;
Inspired by the fluidity of Jackson pollock's drip art and his statement "I am nature". this image reflects the creation of a flowing mindscape, with a more focused and constructive concept of abstract or emotion painting style.
to Special relations;
artist : Eddy Crowley
medium : mixed, oil and enamel paints
painting size : 30/20 inches
This painting is an abstract mindscape taking colour aspects of national flags and organisations to show a balanced state of affairs. An 'in the envelope' colour coded perspective of the lay of the political landscape. Big star little star because 'special relationships' in politics are never seen as being equal ie. S.Ireland to N.Ireland, S.Ireland to USA, N.Ireland to England, N.Ireland to USA etc. All in all a colourful canvas for focus and meditation.
At the time of the agreement there was a big input by President Clinton who appointed senator Mitchel to over see the making of the 'pact'. I wanted the picture to look like a flag in it's own right, thought about the quilt makers in america who influenced the stars and stripes, sort of american skies uplifting the sectarianism and bigotary of political stance and religeon here in the North to a higher ideal of what unites us.
Which do you prefer?
