    final fantasy 12!

So I got it yesterday at midnight , and played it all the way till 4:15 a.m.

I can't describe how amazing the conceptuals are! Everything is just so detailed, and it just shows so much dedication and craftsmanship.

    here's some snapshots!

I hate to sound like a fan but by far it's one of the most gorgeus games I've seen to date. Check it out!

I had my roommate pick it up during his lunch break. Looking forward to get into it--still gotta beat Xenosaga III before I get too committed to FFXII, though.

Did you get the collector's edition? There's some nice concept art / illustration on there. I also got the special edition guide for the 100 page artbook.

Gameplay wise, it's fantastic. I have'nt really sat down to play a game like this in a long time. The story is alot more mature than I had expected. The world is gargantuan as well. The look of the game and scale feels like an MMO. But the customization and story still give it a cozy, personal feel. Not to mention the soundtrack is just fantastic.

Armour designs: Very nice! Good consistancy and decorations. I had some 'Judges' as a wallpaper for a while.
Cloth designs: An Elfwood collaboration, although this time there atleast seems to be a hint of theme and color scheme.
Characters: Furries and Yaoi, no thanks.
Gameplay: A new battaru slot card crystal plugin energy-mana system? Crazy leveling? On a rail? The trailers I saw failed to intrest me in any way. There's an enemy spawning, run lets run over to it and kill it. Oh look, it's spawning again, I think I'll repeat. Maybe later I can move onto the red ones that has 2 times the hitpoints and a new attack. By the way there's no way to tell how dangerous anything is by the visual looks. You might very well encounter a small floating fish that deals 100 times the damage of a T-rex.

    Gametrailes has some trailers

apparently you can skip the cutscenes with (start+x), always something.

I've heard some good things about the roaming-attack system, which was supposed to be fluid/seamless, but I'm not sure if it was this game.

I've always disliked linear turn-based japanese rpgs, it always felt like there was a huge world but nothing to do in it but what the designers intended (therefore, the elder scrolls is my favorite for rpgs) but I must admit the LOOK of this game is great

As far as the concept art goes, I feel like some things are off. In an otherwise serious looking game, they gave Ashe a very jpop costume.. which seems out of place most of the time. Vaan could have been ok, if they would have dirtied him up... he's some poor street orphan, yet he looks like he's spent his whole life in a day spa. If he was less pristine looking, I think people would like him alot more. Basch and Vossler look great.. they look like something out of FFT, which is nice.

Anyway, love the new fangled gameplay style.. it's a definite improvement. The license board is a fairly tame battle system though, definitely lacks the depth of some of their previous systems. I'd love to see this new gameplay style combined with a job system or something fun like that.

Easily 9 out of 10 for this game.

Wait a minute... I thought it comes out for PS3???????
What platform do you use? PS2? PC?
Let me know. Because i didn't like ANY (!) of the FF after te FF7, which is one of the best games ever made..
I own xbox 360 and know there's no way that its gonna run on it. But maybe there's a PC version?
    Thanks for feedback,

    Thanks for feedback,
PS2 only for FF XII, no PC version, "Final Fantasy Fabula Nova Crystallis" is for the PS3.

Fabula Nova is a product of the success of the "compilation of VII" and is not just one game, is an entire polymorphic franchise that consists in 3 games ( FF XIII, FF XIII:versus and FF Agito XIII), plus some other products like toys, movies, anime, etc.

It´s suppose to have a revolutionary battle system ( turn based tho, sorry you turn based haters) that was planned to imitate battles as seen in Advent Children...in terms that you will have to command your character/s trough the scene, using magic and skills in a practical way ( EX: Gravity magic affecting gravity....not just taking 1/4 or the enemy´s health)

For Xbox you can still buy FF XI and have a blast....the reason why this game was not as popular as WoW is mainly because is harder....but is the only thing the Xbox 360 owners are going to see from the franquise.

Okay, I played a demo of this a few months ago, and hopefully, they've changed the battle system since then, as it was awful. All I remember was that I couldn't control what my teammates did. They just ran around, doing whatever, and let me die. And that playboy bunny bothered me, but that's more personal preference. If it is a very in-depth game, I might have to check it out, but if the way you play through combat is still jacked up, no thank you.

That's why they have the gambit system. Can assign them either very specific, or general commands to carry out through battle. And if you don't like what they're doing you can just switch over to take total control of that character.

The gambit system seems like a good idea (having characters gambit/guess/auto do stuff if you don't want to micromanage them). The rather non-linear world with enemy difficulty being a limit seems like something I'd like aswell, but from what I've gathered it's rather 'grindy' with the usual level inflation.

It can be. Thankfully you don't have to go through all the arduous animations of going in and out of battle scenes, and watching victory dances.. You can also set your gambits for characters to attack any enemy they say, without you having to prompt the fight. So you can explore with one character, finding treasures and whatnot while the rest of your party is off on thier own, grinding levels.

I am unbelievably obsessed with this game and I've only played it for like 4 hours. Man, I waited for forever for this and it's totally fulfilling my expectations!

I HAVE A CRUSH ON EVERY GUY IN THE GAME !!!!!!

Conceptually stunning, though I've always expected that of FF, especially this particular team (that did Vagrant Story and FFT), but I've been totally surprised by their ability to get the character's in-game expressions so perfect. I actually prefer it to the pre-rendered FMV's so far!

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

    final fantasy 12!

The gambit/license system is great and lets you customize your playstyle. As for the "grindyness", you can easily finish the main story just by playing normally and not have to grind levels. Anyway its a very solid game, perhaps my favorite of the franchise.

I heard something about it being possible to finish the game (main objective) without leveling much at all, sounds kind of interesting. It seems like the grindy repetitive gameplay comes in if you do want to level, several reviews have mentioned grindyness being part of 'normal' gameplay. I'd guess grindyness would arise from lack of attack variations and lack of enemies (in that certain area).

Isamu Kamikokuryo is the creator of those backgrounds, I'm pretty sure about that. I don't think though that imperial boy and Isamu Kamikokuryo is the same person, the art seems very different to me.

Haven't play the game itself, but supposedly the game had to have Mediterranean feel, didn't noticed that at all, except Balthier's turkish (?) slippers. Thank god, no long hair guys, though (personal pet peeve)

The FF 12 art seems fully painted to me. Imperial Boy starts with simple 3d models and paints over them.

Gave in and picked it up. So far, the storyline and UI is so Tactics it HURTS. (In a good way...if you liked Tactics.) The battle system, I'm minding less and less. Really, it seems about the same as the ABS in the beginning. The only differences are that if you want to just attack you don't have to sit there and hold X the entire battle, and when you want your teammates to do boring crap like that you don't have to sit there and tell them to do it over and over. But you can run around now.

    My character stats so far:

    . Vaan: Guns (White/Black/Green/Time Magicks)
    . Ashe: Axe/Daggers + Shield (White/Time/Green Magicks)
. Balthier (coolest FF character): Sword +Shield (Green/Technicks specialist)
    . Fran: Bows (White/Black/Green/Time/Arcane)
    . Penelo: Poles/Bowgun (White/Black/Green/Time/Arcane)
    . Basch: Spears/Katanas (White/Black Magicks)

Finally, characters whom I actually cared for... And too bad, but I really liked Vossler's character...
