    Spraypaint instead of an airbrush

I just came across this video. I had no idea you could do such precision work with spray cans. There are some more videos listed on the sidebar.

I've also seen a crazy looking guy doing the same in the streets of Montreal, sitting and working on top of plastic bins with an ARRAY of cans around him. He was a heck of a lot faster tho... for a result that I prefered over this guy's...

Saw a guy in Stockholm doing the same thing once, can't really say I like the plastic look of the finished pieces, It would be interesting giving it a try though.

Impressive use of friskets and bounce shields. Maybe torching cures the paint or burns off the fumes from the piece.

That spraycan technique is interesting but I can't wait to get my own airbrush setup. The only thing that vies for my want of a tablet monitor is a super silent air compressor and a side-feed Aztek airbrush (No, I'm not thinking of doing van art or cheesecake pinups.)

    a crazy looking guy
Fumes kill brain cells. But what's a billion brain cells or two if one gets something out of his art, right?

Pretty cool stuff. He looks like he could use some fine arts instruction when it comes to composition and such, but he obviously knows what he's doing, technically. His method requires a helluva lot more foresight and planning than what I put into my own pieces.:/
I saw one of these people in Reno, Nevada. They're performers as much as artists. That is to say, watching them work is more like a performance than, say, watching someone apply a glaze to an oil painting or something.

Ha...that's exactly what I was thinking. It's also the spray paint/airbrush equivalent of using every photoshop filter to create a painting.
