Workshop attendees worried about climate change?

I only figured out recently that not only was I not good to the environment (figured I was, cause I don't drive) but I'm actually pretty bad for it. One of the main reasons is the amount I fly. Apparently short haul flight is equivalent to three months' worth of regular driving!!! Which basically means I'm driving three cars by myself. Eek!

Anyhow, for those of you who'll be attending the SF workshop - or just flying in general - there's a website my friend pointed me at which neutralises your travel by lpanting as many trees as it will take to neutralise the carbon deficit of your journey. You gotta pay them, but it's not actually very much.

The site's here: Carbon Neutral Flights

Go on, save the planet fo yo ass.

Forestry companies (paper companies, etc.) pay people to plant trees. So, one could get possibly get paid to plant trees instead of the opposite, too. Although, I'm not sure of the availability of jobs doing so, though. But that's also a viable option in order to help out the planet if you need cash instead of having too much.

Being conscientious doesn't mean you have too much money, mate. And nothing in industry is driven by anybody except consumers. So laziness is not only not an excuse, it's the whole problem.

I think you mistook my intention--I was simply saying that if you want to be conscientious but don't have any money to spend, the forestry industry (at least here in the States) will often pay people to plant trees.
