Another hand study, quick, about 5 minutes, and some other sketches.

Awesome stuff here, I really like your pointillism piece and acrylic paintings. Your pencil sketches have bold outlines that I'm not too fond of, try smoothing them out. Makes them more subtle and realistic.

By smoothing, do you mean make them less visible? Or just more sketchy?

    Thankie much for the comments.

Edit, woops, I'm stupid, forget my question, lol. It's in your post ><

An update of my other study, and a watercolour I'm doing at school, of 2 bowling pins and a bone. (Teachers made up the still life) 3 sizes

Found out how totally wrong the proportions were on that value study of neptune I was doing were, so I sketched it out with a pencil instead. *smiles* So much more natural.

Messed up on the mouth so I just went *scratchyscratchy* I didn't need to feature right, just proportions///

    Nice updates!
For the watercolor, I think that in the future it would help if you "zoomed" out a bit, so we could see everything. The pin we can fully see is nice, but it's confusing only seeing parts of the other objects.
    Keep it up!

Yeah, you're right about that. But my art teacher said she waned us to have thing going off the page and to zoom in =/ Sometimes I think they're wrong, but I don't argue, really. =P

I got a new toned paper sketchbook for christmas and a Drawing: Human anatomy by Giovanni Civardi so I'm going to post my new sketches and studies once I get back to my house (posting on my dad's laptop).

Nice work in here, especially the reference practice stuff. Your understanding of value is coming along very nicely.

    Keep it up.

Thank you Maro... Man, I haven't posted here in a long time, but here's some stuff I've done recently, just alot of sketchy stuff.

But this is my favorite, it's not finished, the finished version is un-scanned and at school:

    DRD's sketches

Then here's an abstract, kind of oriental compo I did at school, I kind of like it:

    DRD's sketches

Then some sketches from my sketchbooks:

    All squeaky clean now. =)

Just a sketch of a British guard. I wanted him to look kind of geeky so I made his front teeth prominent. =P

Hey dude, like the variety of work you have in here. I'd like to see more stuff like the lighthouse painting you did back on page one. It's too bad you don't post more in here, I'd like to see more of your work.

Thanks for posting in my sketchbook!

I really like the picture you have of the british guard -- above.
But the stuff that I'm most fond of is the studies you did, the graphite with white colored pencil I think it is? Excellent use of cross-hatch to show shading.
I also envy you for you being able to use paint. I surely can't use it at all lol.
The only attempt I've made with paint looked uber ugly.
Anyway, nice job! Keep up the good work!!

    Must.... see.... more ;P

I enjoyed all of your sketchbooks, lol. Thanks for replying guys.

Malakai, oh no, I'm not that great with paint at all...I'm having a very hard time making my acrylics behave the way I want them to, lol. If you want to see an uber painting thread, go look at Seedling's Sb. Some great stuff in there.

Yeah, Sepulverture, and Kronos, a little bit after I posted my laster update of the lighthouse, my computer got a bad virus problem. In the end, me and my dad had to wipe the hard drive and start from scratch; I don't have the .psd anymore. =/

Malakai, it was graphite with white charcoal. Dunno how they make that =P

Here's some studies of smiles, something I have a hard time with, right now I'm trying to improve my facial expressions.

Alright, number 3 might not be a smile but it IS a mouth. *grin*

My very first COW entry, just my idea. It sucks right now so I'll go back and make additional things.

I think I saw a post that said you are 15. If that's right and you continue to do what you're doing you've got an easy road ahead developing this into a career. Nice work Brother.

Really? When's the normal time people get into 'real' work anyways? Like professional careers? Always wanted to know but never got around to asking anybody...anyways, thanks much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. Loved your Sb btw, awesome figure studies. Wish I could be as smooth as you are with a pencil. =/

Here's a decently large update, did all of this today, at school and at home.
Fat birds and nosy nerds. (Ok only the first part of this makes sense, but as there are some face studies just live with my bad rhymes)

Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to your sketchbook, drd. You have quite some awesome stuff here. I think my favorites are the studies you did with chalk/pastels. I really can't quite tell, since I have limited experience with both . Though I do think I used chalk in the crappy art class I had freshman year.

You also seem to have A LOT of talent with painting, and I definately want to see some more of that!

Everybody thinks I have talent in painting...I can't do crap with painting, whenever I star something I just ruin it. =/

Np Aerethos, you had your own stuff to be getting on with. I'll be keeping up with your sketchbook!

    Thanks Wasker.

Just some random stuff I did cause I was bored. I'm going to start reading Mentler's stuff instead of just looking at the pretty pictures.
