    Awesome work Daniel!!
This current character is coming along nicely, I'd say if you needed muscle help you might want to check out kangaroo leg anatomy considering the way you have the legs at the moment.
Regarding the studies, don't worry if they seem hard at the moment. According to Bobby Chiu, frustration is simply a sign that your mind is working , and that, ultimately will lead to learning.
Nice work on the other sketches too!!
Truly looking forward to seeing this sketchbook in about a months time (considering the rate you're working at!!).
    Keep up the great work!!

    hey man,

come a long way haven't you! Keep going man.

I like the latest painting and that rim lighting on the character's nose is really working. The shadow area on the side of the nose seems to be almost the same internsity as the shadow in the eye socket which flattens them out. This doesn't make sense because the eyesocket is on a different plane than the side of the nose, it should technically, in some areas, receive more light.

    hope it helps!

And abstract larches in the neutral light

Jesus: Thanks; not sure if I'll finish it or not, what with college applications and homework and all. Maybe I'll come back to it 10 years from now

Mactire: It's been a month and I haven't updated...shame on me. But I hope that, after I finish with my college applications, I can get this thing back up to full speed. Thanks for the Chiu reference! He's awesome.

JeanShade: Thanks, I hadn't noticed something so obvious! I'll be sure to correct it.

    Amontillado: I plan to >=)

jather: thanks for commenting! I do have lots of unused photos on my computer...

Our recent project in school was an intaglio print; I included a version using an exclusion layer in ps to show what it looked like before I got the asphaltum off, and before the metal plate was placed in the acid bath. It's a really interesting process; I liked doing it a lot.
It's amazing how such small marks come out so cleanly after printing. Luckily my teacher has a master's degree in printmaking.

    well then study them
you can improve your lines, rendering, knowledge about form, depth, lighting and color with them. pretty cool, huh?
btw, the prints are awesome , although the inverted one doesnt read very well....whatever
    keep posting!

oooo nice that print is really cool, i have tried this a while back , interesting process....it can be difficult if your not shown the right process...seems you got it right though..

You have a nice line to your work, has a certain loose charm to it.

jatherip: Thanks, i'll try to. No, it doesn't, which is why it's a pain to have to scratch it out in that state! How the hell am I supposed to know what my values are looking like?
brainyfoliage: Not as long as you would think; besides, it's almost meditational Thanks.
dann: yes; as I said, our teacher specializes in it, so we got lucky. Thanks for the compliment! I quite enjoyed your sketchbook as well.

some ink sketches; I've got finished work to upload, but I have to photograph it soon (I
ll have to photograph it anyway, since I'm sending it off to colleges)

Ben: Thanks man, same to you!
jcpahl: Well, I'll be 18 in a month. Then whatever amazement anyone receives from me being 17 will be gone, and rightfully so. You people are making it difficult to be modest. But thank you
    007-r0b3r7: Thanks
    Dy.laneA: Thanks man!
    DoubleThink: Thanks, I'll try to.
    mariusz: thanks man
    towy: thanks

looks pretty good in here man you're getting tons of great feedback already, and the improvement is easy to spot.. so just keep listening and keep drawing..! my main critique is that you should spend more time with your drawings :] maybe spend more time constructing ? and not just drawing 'lines as you see them' .. anyway you know this stuff already.. just keep workinnnn''!

Wow sorry guys, I haven't even been on CA itself for over a week and a half, I feel terrible about it
Won't go into specifics but just a large influx of new projects (for art as well as academic classes). I've got some large drawings being worked on so when those are done I'll post em up. Replies later, I'm running out of time on the deadline for an online course quiz tonight...thanks for the comments!

Wahtever work I've done on this since the last update I posted, not a whole lot
