Some of the pencils you've posted recently look super sweet Just keep up the good work. Also when penciling try to be "tidier" with your lines, try to follow form and build some spots of light and shade instead of cross hatching everything.

Sirkenneth: Thank you! I'll keep posting until I drop dead.
thirdeye: Thanks for the crit. I'm still not very good with organic lines. Stricly speaking, I can't get a f*** curve into my lines
    theories: Thanks!

And speaking of values … this one is reffed for the nature parts (guess you can tell from the way the cabin is fucked up ). And a TF2 inspired sailor character. I'm no character modeller (rather into enviros and props), but making my own TF2 char would be … awesome.

Awesome paints! You got a great range of style! That last environment has a beautiful haze to it. Also love those crazy bright coloured marker sketches, they look fun.
Oh, and the perspective on that last environment is slightly off, roof looks to be sloping up rather than towards the horizon. nitpick i know, but the lit window keeps drawing my attention to that one line

SirGreenSock: Yeah, I flattened the cabin and didn't mind putting it into perspective. Dumb me. Thanks for the crit, more if you can?

So here's my today. I didn't realize it yet, but there's already an established german illustrator and storyboard artist who's working by the name of Jabo, so I will have to change my nick in the near future. Meh, I was getting used to it

Thanks folks, means a lot to me

Sorry for missing a day, I can't even remember what I did yesterday … Ah yeah, went to watch Pandorum. Nice flick, I enjoyed it more than I would have guessed.

Pardon the webcam shots, I will scan when I get near a scanner. And I need some advice here. For the snakefight, composition and values? And for the steampunk-grammophone-guy, values, lighting and face planes?

I'm still not back at my much loved Cinema Display, this BenQ is a cheap piece of plastic, I can't see the values well enough here. They turn out to be to dark probably, but after two weeks here, I can't even judge the images on my calibrated MacBook display. I will check the images as soon as I'm back in my flat. Hope you like them anyway. Scribble-di-doo.

Yeah the digital work came out rather dark, the middle range values could definitely be kicked up a notch or two.
The dragon/snake painting is pretty boring composition-wise. It feels more like were looking at a Roman or medieval fresco, everything is seen in profile straight on, flyswatted in a way. There are no overlapping elements, no foreshortening, no suggestion of depth, which at the same time might not be things you were going for anyway, I just find the composition is not exactly exciting for an action scene/illustration.

SirGreenSock: Yeah I guess you're right, but I've seen this kind of fresco-composition in a lot of fantasy illustration. It seems to be the way these things are portrayed often.

jdeegz: Thanks! I was aiming for some attitude, but still think they're kinda flat.

    Jushra: Merci! Werd ich machen!

I have too many wips at the moment, can't get my head around which one to work on. And I'm finally attending life drawing classes, which I love.
